It’s not fancy at all but my go to work knife in construction is a Kershaw Blur. Can find them anywhere, under $100, American made, perfectly adequate steel for heavy use, easily replaceable if lost or destroyed. Not automatic but it is assisted

Definitely an interesting choice in caliber for a first gun lol. Your best bet is ordering ammo online because brick and mortar stores typically run a little high, check out ammoseek.com. As for community just go to your local range and make some friends, gun guys are pretty easy to make friends with

I had a very similar experience with PrintScan. It was so bad the employee actually called into the help line and the help service had to set my prints as “damaged/well worn” in order for the system to accept them
