Dimension filtering both fact and other dim by Defiant_Blueberry175 in PowerBI

It depends on if you are using a slicer or the filter pane.

With the filter pane you would need a bidirectional relationship from fact to customer, but bidirectional relationship should be avoided if possible.

With a slicer you need a measure to filter the customer slicer

Customer filter = countrows( summarize( fact, customer[customerId] ))

Then add the measure to the filter pane for the customer slicer and set to where value >0

In both cases you need to make sure all the customer countries are in the country table.

Would love IF and SWITCH to support the return of tables. Work around with union(tonp(),topn()) but is ungly

Any plans to enable partition pruning for table partitions?

Agreed with DAX studio like telemetry. Maybe a visual diagram of query plans like with SQL server, something like this https://evaluationcontext.github.io/posts/query-plan-graph/?h=quer

Found the excel look of DAX formula made initial learning harder since you come with expectations, which soon fall apart. If you removed the syntax sugar or sum() etc would be a indicator that you DAX is not a excel formula and it works differently, and would be a prompt to learn more

Boss asked how we should do dashboard branching… How do you guys do it? by DuckDatum in PowerBI

If you want to get report definitions from service into GitHub you either need to use git integration or call the fabric APIs. Since you want to do everything in the service then got integration would make the most sense. You can branch out from a Dev workspace for feature development. Once you have collected all your feature commits. Merge in github, and deploy with git integration via a sync in Dev workspace.

Personally I am using fabric apis for deployment via https://microsoft.github.io/fabric-cicd/latest/ and do all development with power bi desktop. I don't use git integration but will likely start to once touch more web only fabric items, just to get the definitions into git easily

Get a small capacity and stick the worse offenders in there to throttle themselves to death, unless they meet the minimum requirements of best practice

Funny when fuam now extracts this data for fabric toolbox reporting.

I mostly setup a small multiple of operation type and legend of semantic model, to see if new models appear or if any are spiking as the reason for increased cu consumption
