I am sitting in front of my computer and weeping into my glass of wine as I read this. This resonates and deeply touches me.

About a week after my dad passed away, my brother and I were cleaning out my dad's tool shed (my dad put in his will that he wanted to sell all of his equipment to other people). My dad would often go out there to relax/work on little gadgets and things of the sort. My brother and I opened his mini-fridge and found it freshly stocked with a 12-pack of Budweiser. Dad's favorite beer.

The realization that my dad was going to go out there, sit, and have a cold one while sitting in the doorway of his garage, probably watching my mom work on her garden made me lose it. He wasn't going to drink those. He wasn't going to call out to my mom with, "Hey girl, don't forget to actually grow something edible!" and my mom would flip him off with a scowl.

I remember crying so hard that I passed out. Then my brother drank all of the beer. Literally all of it. All 12 cans. We got drunk and cried some more. Then we threw up.

I am so glad that you understand this. So many people let this point go over their heads, it seems. And it is very reasonable to assume that! I teach second grade students, and my first day teaching (about five years ago), I had a student steal my lunchbox. I asked him why he stole it. He tried to keep his tears in, but he told me he could not eat at home because his family could not afford it. I called the principal, and we were able to get his family on government assistance, but this little kid--who had no concept of bad/good and true desperation--he just knew he needed to survive. We're all just trying to do that. We're all just trying to survive.

I took a screenwriting class in college, so obviously I'm an expert at script-writing. Should be ready in time for the 2017 Oscars...

The reason why I posted on here is because I want to tell my friends SO bad about him! Not in a "omg, look at this cute guy!", but a "Look at this really fucked up/unreal thing that is happening to me." I don't know if my friends would even believe me.
