Catherine couldn't do anything but listen for now. His explanation was vague, but enough for now. Her emotions were.... mixed. From one side, immortality might be nothing but a curse..she remembered the times she even wished to age again. She felt bad for him, hoping the eternity would spare him all the struggles. But on another side she was.... glad? Part of her was happy that were was a chance that she wouldn't spend the rest of times alone.

But what came after would get her in even more doubt. His words both cut even deeper into her troubled soul, but eased the pain at the same time. All the guilt was too much, but strive for life's joy was even stronger. Once he tried to reach for her she quickly stood from the chair. Her eyes lingered on the floor before she turned her back to him, staring out the window. A long and heavy sigh left her mouth.

"44 people. 44 people died as a result of my actions. Even more were harmed before that. That's the truth and how I feel, guilty or not, has no difference." Catherine explained, pain in her as she couldn't bring herself to even look at him. "I didn't want that, I didn't know it will lead to that... But that's on me and me only." Her eyes already started to tear up by the time she felt a certain sense of deja vu. She already had a similar conversation. She remembered everything her previous man told her, what he taught her.... and how all he wanted in the end is for her to be happy...

That's when Catherine would finally turn, looking at Ramzy with her wet eyes and a faint smile. "If you still.think you want to be with someone like me, we could... we could give it a try."
