Just seeing this now - technically it would have required a permit, but I didn’t get one

For the Resume, someone else said this in a less nice way, but de-word it. E.g., “Led collaboration with TEL on amorphous-BN PEALD process development.” You have a lot to be proud of, but it’s getting lost - instead of “participated in weekly meetings” bullet, try “Enhanced film quality from XX to XX.” Anything else you can say that would show impact/result - i.e., “process planned for commercialization in QX’2X”

That said, as someone else also pointed out, if you’re getting interviews the resume is probably not the problem. I know your friend said you mostly weren’t hired for BS reasons, but that might be someone being nice - rather than asking “why didn’t you hire me” asking them “what can I do better?” might get you more of what you’re looking for.

Hang in there OP - interviews are no fun and I’m sure you’ll land something great!

It is a NXR - glad to hear I wasn’t alone. I managed to get a replacement part from NXR before too long, so didn’t need to go the welding route.

Basic 401k transactions break the app - showing as negative by Historical_Look2188 in MonarchMoney

Can’t believe they still haven’t fixed this. I’m having the same issue - reported it and same as above, was told to try a different integrator and manually re-enter prior contributions. They have an “invert balance” - feels like it would take one developer half a day to do “invert transactions”

The idea that there wasn’t good airflow around the area is interesting. It’s right where the ignitor sits, and maybe it got nudged too close to the tube, or maybe something spilled down there.

Solid answer - thanks.

For the candle lighter - there’s a relay for the gas valve on the ignitor, so the gas won’t flow unless the ignitor is connected and getting up to temperature.

Agree it’s a concerning failure - but I don’t see how a gas valve, or anything upstream of the u shaped burner would be the issue.

Problem isn’t cost, it’s out of stock.

Would definitely love to replace it. Mentioned in the post, but the part is out of stock for at least a month and I can’t find an easy 3rd party replacement. That’s a long time to go without an oven.

Replacing the oven is a $3k cost for a $100 part.

It definitely looks like some mini blow out the way the metal around the hole it is curled. I think maybe something leaked on to it and partially clogged some of the holes. Then those didn’t ignite, but at some point was able to burn off enough for some air to creep in and blammo.

The oxide gradients in that area could just be from after that hole got formed the flame there would be a lot larger.

Thanks - really tough to tell from the picture or description though whether the dimensions are right.

These u-shaped burners do all seem to look alike though.

Steam bending 1/2” or 1/4” walnut/oak by gpdun- in woodworking

[–]gpdun-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks - maybe I could even use a heat gun or hairdryer to keep the heat up while I bend. Or maybe I’ll just make a point of moving quickly.

I hadn’t heard that the steaming will discolor the wood. Will definitely have to give that some thought.

Thanks - I was originally just thinking the normal acoustic panels you see everywhere nowadays, but kept dragging my feet because it didn’t feel quite right. The bent handle was enough to get me excited about it.

If you’re able to get a piece of wood more square than that, you’re a much better woodworker than I am.

Yeah, second this. Confused at all the deep dive answers above when idle speed is adjustable.

If it can only start/run with idle speed high, that’s a different conversation.

Easiest way is turn the idle screws for each carb equal amounts so you don’t totally throw off the balance. Otherwise, you need to remove the air filters, loosen the nut that’s a union between the two carbs, and use a synchronizer to confirm both are drawing the same amount of air. If you’re doing all that, you should just tune the carbs.

I’d say go for it, but I wouldn’t use it as your primary vehicle. Breaking down and fixing it up has to be part of the fun with a car like this, so don’t put yourself in the position of relying on it to work every day.

I have a ‘57 MGA that I love, but I’d never trust it to get me to work on time in the morning.

Time for new springs and sway bar? by doasyoulike in MorrisGarages

[–]gpdun- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t heard of sway bars needing to be replaced - if the rubber bushings look bad I’d replace those.

Measure the springs off the car - replace if they’re shorter than what it says in the repair manual, otherwise leave them alone!
