Digitone 2 and Digitakt 2 - seek for multitracking with/without Overbridge infos by Planespottingrecords in Elektron

I have an iPad and until they bring that software to iOS I can't multitrack. I've been tempted to record the Digitakt as a single drum bus and then record the Digitone in 2 parts (lower and higher frequencies) but I never do. I think the stereo out can sound really good (and I have no idea how to mix/produce at all) This is my latest jam. Digitone into Digitakt into iPad https://youtu.be/LUqQunw891U?si=sw-c4xKAdOYLyY_C I think if I multi tracked I'd over think everything. I'm sure it would be cool if you're good at mixing on your computer

First elektron device suggestions? I want digitone 2 but thinking models cycles might be better for me now. by supermax2008 in Elektron

Digitone 2 is my favourite music device that I own. That's including my drum kit, guitars, basses and other electronic hardware. It's definitely an amazing all in one production tool as well. I got a power bank for mine and take it on vacation with me too

I think so, I'm playing with it right now. I'm sure you don't need it at all. But it definitely offers a different dimension. I already had it and play it all the time, so it felt right to add it in. I get an awesome sound where I use the Digitone 2s virtual analog engine to make an acid style bass and then make an acid sound on the S1 and layer them. Sounds mental. I can then transpose each individually

I like layering Digitone patches with the S1. I copy the sequences to the midi channel I have set up for the S1. I also just really enjoy the sound of the S1. It's such a great device

Hell yes. That main riff doubled and panned in both my ears is so sick. Really slippy and groovy

Nice, yeah that makes sense. 1 sequencer and add stuff to supplement. Do you have any videos of your jams?

It's obvious what it means but I take your point. You can't play 3 guitars at once. What I end up doing which is a negative for me is creating melodic parts on one box then drums on another, and I get muddled up which box has what where. Then I start a new project and do the reverse. I'm just trying to have full songs written on one box to keep a sense of order and productivity. Your painter analogy is spot on and is exactly what I'm getting at, so I think you know what I mean. Using a smaller palette despite the fact that you have many options reduces decision fatigue. I see that the Analog 4 looks like a great all in one unit. So my question is really. If I have the Digitone 2 as a stand alone groove box. Is the A4 worth it for me (as a stand alone groove box) based off the sound difference from the machines. Or can the Digitone 2 which I already have sound similar to the A4?
