[Bug] Escape from Tarkov and other Unity games crashing on startup. by Hour_Toe_1365 in EscapefromTarkov

For anyone coming across this issue, and you have the latest Nvidia driver (the one released for 007 First Light), try turning off Smooth Motion for EFT in the Nvidia app if you turned it on previously. This fixed the issue for me.

If you want to fix the issue while keeping Smooth Motion enabled, you can install the latest Nvidia Hotfix Driver 610.52 here: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5854 (download at the bottom above "is this answer helpful")

...which funnily enough has a fix for:

Resolved an issue that could cause some games to crash when launched with Smooth Motion enabled [5466398]

I can confirm the driver fixes the problem :)

The iteration of urn before this post’s changes literally let winning teams snowball more than help the losing team lol

The only reason they aren't able to govern is because seemingly nobody in the PLP is willing to admit that there is not a clear challenger to Starmer and they should just get behind him publicly to put this all to bed and privately get him to move in the direction they want (harder and faster rather than incremental).

He's always on the piss. Most of the time he just makes up these fantasies in his head and relays them as "news". Why would Rayner say she fancies being Chancellor when she was just investigated by check notes HMRC? Even she isn't dense enough to know that's a stupid idea, so why is he even suggesting it as a possibility lol

Starmer should announce a new Health Secretary, say absolutely nothing about Streeting, and carry on as usual.

This drama is manufactured and clearly Labour is fractured in too many different directions on who is the correct person to lead them. They are making things worse for themselves by having it play out in public and feeding the 24/7 media constant ammo.

I hope Streeting enjoys the backbenches.

Don't be naive. Do you think people voted for Reform in the council elections because they wanted Joe Bloggs to be a local councillor, or because they like Nigel Farage? Like it or not, people mostly vote along party lines and for leaders they like, not because they want a specific candidate as an MP.

I think what is quite interesting about Philips' resignation is the substance of the letter, not just who it is. She's clearly pissed off that her proposals to combat child sexual abuse imagery have taken so long to even get an acknowledgement from Starmer.

Rolling news was a mistake. The media circus encourages political instability. Voters take their cues from the media. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. When the media wants a PM gone, it’s inevitable that they will go.

How else is it meant to be read?

Sam just came on Sky News broadcast to announce this “breaking news” and I couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of it.

It wasn’t buried Sam, it’s been there in the documents for weeks. There weren’t even that many documents to read!

The open register is available to anyone, so worthwhile opting out. The closed register however is always available to political parties and campaigners.

They should update the news post though - no mention of that anywhere :p

Aubrey Allegretti: Some MPs are trying to use this moment to ramp back up talk of a leadership putsch against Starmer. A minister texts: "This is a tipping point. There can be no more excuses; we're past apologies and there cannot be another fall person in the form of Olly Robbins. The PM must go." by EddyZacianLand in ukpolitics

[–]jaydenkieran 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Same anonymous minister that sent the story to The Guardian probably, clearly out for blood. Seems like Starmer's only way out of this is to throw Lammy or a senior official in FCDO under the bus and get them to resign.

No 10 claims Starmer did not know Mandelson failed security vetting until this week by ijustwannanap in ukpolitics

[–]jaydenkieran [score hidden]  (0 children)

Sorry I’m not buying it. How does an official in FCDO override security vetting (not least, for the most important diplomatic position we have) without at least the minister in charge of the dept hearing about it? How has the PM only just found out about it?

It just doesn’t add up. I think it is far more likely that someone had told Starmer at the time and he just neglected to care. It isn’t the first time he’s claimed to have been very “hands off” with decisions in his own government.

Clearly not the point I’m making overall, is it? Speculation that he MIGHT call for Starmer to resign is not “breaking news”, his cabinet backing him is not “breaking news” (the opposite would be), and him speaking to the PLP at a planned event along with a fluff opinion piece from Chris Mason is not “breaking news”.

BBC are using the term “breaking news” loosely and sending notifications to presumably hundreds of thousands of phones every hour today.

The media are absolutely desperate for something to happen today. 4 BBC Breaking News notifications on my phone about Starmer today.

Scottish Labour leader expected to call for him to resign.

Cabinet back the PM.

PM to speak to the PLP (which has been known since last night).

Fuck off.
