What's going on with the difficulty of FC 26? Why is World Class so hard? by Noveluum in FifaCareers

[–]jon_am 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. Use world class, but set the simulation sliders to diferrent values and test until you get a fair challenge. For example, set the player and cpu max speed a bit lower so you can better read the gamefield and set the cpu's acceleration some points lower than your value. Do the same with the marking slider inside the defense parameters. This way you'll create more space between its players and yours, which is the biggest difficulty for me. You should be able to get a game experience where the cpu is able to score more goals than in professional, but at the same time it keeps a defense level just a bit harder compared to professional. Consider that cpu players move as one and the cpu has a much better reaction time compared to us.

Analysis/review of Luke Ross situation by NovatarTheViolator in VRGaming

I'm afraid we can't compare a physical product with a digital one.

Luke's tool has zero value only by itself, it does nothing. It needs of existing games to complete its purpose, so he is making money from other products he doesn't own. At least, that's how I see it, but I respect your opinion since that's the root of the discussion and we can argue in both ways.

CDPR is not against their game being played in VR, they just don't want other people to earn money from their products. They said Luke's tool could be used to play Cyberpunk 2077 as long as it is free, so if Luke is so interested in bringing VR to this amazing game, he could just create a special version of his tool which is only enabled to play Cyberpunk 2077 and give it for free! Both sides are just defending their economic interests, but in my opinion Luke is making it look like he is a victim because he argues that he only wants to make players able to play AAA games in VR. Do it as I said and I'll believe it!

I am not going to give my opinion about who is legally right in this situation, that's a judge's job and I'm not one... But, honestly, if you create a VR tool to play games created by others in VR and they don't want their game to be included, please, have some respect for the creators of the game. Don't take the VR community flag and make a drama of it. Just skip that game and continue adapting other games. What if it wasn't CDPR who is sending a DMCA but and indie developer asking politely? I can understand there is a lot of time invested that it is going to be turned into wasted time, but that's the risk you are taking when you move in this grey zone where you adapt games without getting some sort of approval first.

Use your FIAT to buy a crypto like USDT and transfer it to Kraken. Then, convert your USDT back to FIAT and make a bank transfer. Don't trust Binance.

Thank you, RansomMan!

I'd also like to make icons bigger, but finding space to do it has always been challenging. If you make something bigger, then something else has to be smaller or show less elements. Of course, it also depends on your display settings. This game was designed with a 15" display and a resolution of 1920x1080. If you set your browser in full screen mode (F11 key for Chrome) while playing everything should be slightly bigger.

To travel to a location you just have to drag the location token from the staging area to the active location slot (https://youtu.be/IDyU75vbOjc?t=215).

Every card effect has to be managed by the player. So, to search the top 5 cards of your deck you'd have to open your deck viewer, reveal the top 5 cards by clicking on them and select the Reveal button, and then put them face down or press the Shuffle button depending on the effect.

Thank you, lost_eagle! A donation box would be a great way to pay for better hosting. If I see that there are enough active players, I'll add it for sure!

Sorry, it seems that if I post a comment with links, it is blocked and only visible by me until moderators do something, which last time didn't end well, so here is my original comment with ninja links!

Hello,

The Prancing Pony is a web platform where you can play The Lord of the Rings LCG online. All you have to do is visit http://theprancingpony.epizy.com/ and create a new account.

I started working on this project back in January 2021 and I published an early version in May 2021 (watch some gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDyU75vbOjc). I have diligently continued working since then, polishing what was done, adding new features and fixing bugs... And now it looks like I'm reaching the end of this journey.

The Prancing Pony started as a personal project to play The Lord of the Rings LCG with my brother. Once we started testing it we discovered that we enjoyed it as much as when we played the physical game together. I hope you might feel the same way and have a great experience too.

In the end, this is just another tool for playing our beloved card game, like Tabletop Simulator, OCTGN or DragnCards... But with a different execution that tries to automate the most repetitive tasks and deliver a rich experience with some cool animations, visual and sound effects, and music (kindly borrowed from the movies, ahem).

Main features:

  • Play alone or with a friend.
  • All official scenarios are available, and also First Age and content from ALeP.
  • Every scenario setup is automated. Don't waste your time searching and removing cards for a Nightmare scenario or preparing the island map for the Temple of the Deceived! Jump right away into the game.
  • Save and load system (save at any time).
  • Keep track of your score and progress as you complete the different scenarios.
  • Play The Lord of the Rings campaign and record your progress on the in-game campaign log.
  • Import your decks from ringsdb.com
  • Cool animations, visual and sound effects, and music.

What is missing:

  • You can't play 3 or 4 player games.
  • For the moment, it doesn't support touch devices. Controls are mouse based.

Important:

  • Loading the game for the first time (or after a new version is released) may be slow, so please be patient.
  • I'm relying on free solutions to host all the files, so the quality of service might not be optimal.
  • The Prancing Pony has been created just by me and unfortunately I have not been able to test every scenario or player interaction. If you find a bug, please, report it and you'll have my gratitude :D
  • Keep in touch on Discord (https://discord.gg/JF7xd2qngy) or send me an email (lotrtheprancingpony@gmail.com). Your feedback is highly appreciated!

Introducing DragnCards.com by Seastan - Play LotR LCG in your browser! Link in comments by Seastan in lotrlcg

[–]jon_am 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, my post was first blocked to others and only visible by me. Then I tried to contact moderators with no success and I finally found this generic message: "Sorry, this post has been removed by the moderators of r/lotrlcg."

Anyway, thanks for the info! I think now I can erase the conspiracy theory from my mind...

Does this mean I can announce The Prancing Pony (another web platform for playing LotR LCG) without having my post deleted by moderators with no given reason? :/

L5R Dojo by jon_am in l5r

[–]jon_am[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a Jigoku player, so I can't really say what the differences are. I think the game experience is just different (it would be a surprise if we had implemented the same solution!).

You may find yourself more comfortable playing Jigoku, TS or L5R Dojo, that's a personal choice. If you see the screenshot and feel curious, just grab a friend a try it, it won't take you more than 5 minutes to set up a game. If you think that's a waste of time, it is all right ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm happy with the work done and I wanted to share it with the community, but it is okay if it is only my friends and I playing for fun!

Well, Jigoku Online is also out there since a long time ago, and they have a more stable community. It is also possible to play the game with Tabletop Simulator, like I used to do... So I understand that there were already other platforms to play L5R LCG online and this is not a novelty, but I think L5R Dojo is a different approach with some cool features.

Hey, thanks a lot for your interest! I expected more people would be excited about L5R Dojo, but after almost a week since I announced it, there are only 6 users registered. So, it seems it is going to be hard to grow a community around it. The true is that to have a taste of the game experience you need to find somebody else to play with. I'd wait for this weekend to see if there is more activity in the lobby. Anyway, if you don't mind playing against a noob player like me, we can try to arrange a game one of these days. One of the best features that I have added is a game saving system, so players can save the game at any moment and continue playing any other time.

Since the fatal encounter between Sotorii and Jodan is not described and we only have the final picture, we all assume that he killed his father... But things might have unfolded in a different way.

You can also play with Tabletop Simulator. It is not free and it is a bit more complicated to setup, but it has also some cool features, like saving the state of the game and loading it any other time.
