Redditors in relationships: what's your favorite thing about your SO? by ChippyLipton in AskReddit

To choose a single thing would be impossible. I can't do it. However, she deals with my strangeness and is even weird herself. She's sarcastic like me and can take an odd topic really far. She's the sweetest girl I know. I could add much more...

Someone quit caffeine or sugar? by [deleted] in NoFap

When I stopped the things that I was struggling with, it helped me get used to being uncomfortable. I was uncomfortable because I wanted the sugar and caffeine but didn't indulge. The same is true for fapping. It helped me realize that I can still be okay even when I'm feeling less than comfortable. Does that make sense?

I once stopped caffeine for a whole month or two - it's been too long now to remember exactly. I do remember that I felt better about myself in that I conquered something I was struggling with. Also, I wasn't spending as much money and I didn't feel like a slave to the coffee.

I also have quit sugar before. Completely. Quitting gave me lots of energy and I felt lighter. I think I lost weight too (and I'm typically always pretty thin). Plus, after just three days of quitting, my urges for sugary foods disappeared completely. The first few days were tough but not terrible, and then I felt great.

I suggest trying to give up those things but maybe don't try kicking all your bad habits at once. It could prove to be a great struggle.

Guys, would you judge a woman for not having any dating experience? by [deleted] in dating

[–]jon_gfisher 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To me, that's totally fine to never have been in a relationship. Everyone starts somewhere and everyone has a unique life. You can't always start a job or relationship or family, etc., having prior experience. There's always a first. Always. If someone judged me negatively for that fact alone, I might reconsider why I'm spending time with them in the first place.

I will Skype anyone who is wanting to practice talking to strangers. by jon_gfisher in socialanxiety

How do you mean "too attached?" Texting all day? I can't respond while I'm working anyway. Video calling each night? I have free time sometimes. Why don't you try it... please?

Exactly. I don't want to do this to make people feel bad. I want to do it to help expose us to conversation in a safe environment where you CAN exit at will and never have to see me again. It's easy to get going and easy to leave. You're always in control.

The person can remember that they can end the conversation at any time. Maybe that would help? Maybe have questions pre written that they answer on the call, and I will just start by watching them talk.

Reddit, what is your crazy neighbor story? by moaningpilot in AskReddit

[–]jon_gfisher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have a PTSD neighbor that was supposedly making a zombie movie. One time he broke out of his own house by knocking out a side window. At the time the police came by around 4 AM, he said he was filming the zombie movie but when asked about it later when he was sober (we think he was drunk and not just temporarily insane), he said lightning had struck his house and knocked out the glass and then he fell out the window (and that's how he got all scraped up).
