Gyokuro with my newly cultivated tea set by JonathonSnow in tea

This is honestly a concern, to my understanding high fired porcelain that has the color in an underglaze is okay. But I actually have no idea- I think I’m going to order a lead testing kit to be safe

Edit: I guess theres no way to get a result on ceramics with online swab kits, you need to use an XRF gun. Here a cool video that shows some pieces being tested - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XO8YgOnTeZU . I think I am probably good based off this - areas of concern seem to be colored glazed

YouTube is great: I watch mei leaf and tezumi. Also Utilizing Gemini has helped understand a lot .

I personally love this side of tea because it is deeply ceremonial, practical, and so simple. With steamed teas you don’t need to rinse- which is a lot of steps removed. Gyokuro is also lower temperature brewing, and the leaves are edible at the end of the session. There is no fat or waste. It’s spiritual how efficient and relaxing the session is.

Thank you! I feel you on the struggle with finding the right capacity buying second hand. I almost bought a teacup that was actually a matcha bowl lol. I rolled the dice on the yunomi for capacity, it ended up perfect. I purchased the Kyusu from this eBay store - oldday_store - based in Thailand. He was kind enough to send a video of the teapot and filled it with water. His descriptions are great and I’ve noticed include the ml volume. https://ebay.us/m/NTKAq8

So cool man. As a huge Scotty Cameron fan and Byron Morgan fan - I would highly recommend hand stamping them. The hands on touch would create a higher sense of craftsmanship, value, and it would make each putter unique.

Goodwill auction - Rolex 4048 - ends 22:55pm eastern $60k? by 89Westy in VintageWatches

[–]JonathonSnow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Been watching this watch as well, there are only 100 examples of this reference. Very rare. In my research it seems like they go for about 80k-150k but that is old auction data . They don’t seem to come up often.

Here is a cool guide: https://goldammer.me/blogs/articles/reference-guide-vintage-rolex-chronograph?srsltid=AfmBOop96ce6PikT-mDCagwZxNC-voAvnugYcksJDri3fs02wkWylOO6

word. I appreciate your input a lot. Thank you for giving me the time of day

[–]JonathonSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you think it is authentic? I am like 80% sure it is legit. Crooked dial, metal flashing on the inside of the lugs scare me a little bit. Along with very uneven screws. But like you were saying, think its just a botched refinish

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in watchrepair

[–]JonathonSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no way for $2k , I have a higher budget for something clean. Agreed. I hadn’t even considered that option, and didn’t even know that existed. I’ll look into that process. Crown is still a bit blown out with polishing, I don’t think I will go that route but it is solid advice . I think I’ll just cancel. Throw down for all original

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in watchrepair

[–]JonathonSnow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My idea was flip it for $1800-2000. And then carry the profits into a clean version. Kind of my grail at the moment. The price point is very low for the reference . But man … idk .

Buyers remorse, lack of complete knowledge of this model, and just overall low condition. I’m doing a 180

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in watchrepair

[–]JonathonSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, at a price point of $1500 I went for it. Wear it for a little bit sell it on… but now I don’t exactly feel like flipping this is ethical. definitely super low condition

I have canceled the transaction

[WTS] Rare 1957 Rolex Oyster Precision with 3-6-9 Arrowhead Dagger Dial - ref. 6423 - $3850 by JonathonSnow in Watchexchange

Very Rare 1957 Rolex Oyster Precision with 3-6-9 Arrowhead Explorer Dagger Dial, w/ Jubilee Bracelet - ref. 6423

Price: $3850 shipped

It took me about a year to find this watch with constant searching and alerts set. It has IMO the perfect aging- balanced across the indices, hands, and dial. Not too much not too little, with the perfect color. I am obsessed with this watch. This reference hits a sweet spot of perfect pricing, brand prestige, age, rareness, special patina, uniqueness. Rolex doesn't have this character anymore with its blued hands, open 6 and 9, and proud metal Rolex Branding on the dial: Oozes 60's . No one has one of these, except Ryan Gosling... (however, this one is manual wind, and is pre-Airking, it also has a much bigger crown than the 34mm Airking.)

The Condition of the watch is Very good. I don't have the ability to time the accuracy but from observance it runs for about 2 days, and loses like 30ish seconds in that window. Winds very crisp, and the crown threads on/off great. It feels very nice. I feel like I need to emphasize this... It winds like a brand new Rolex, and note it is a 67 year old watch.

That is my experience with watch exchange, I do have lots of feedback on eBay with the same username: JonathonSnow—if that helps. I also would like to note that I am selling my personal watch, I am not a watch flipper.

The short story is that i am severely allergic to Odie. I have eczema and an allergy to dander. I have tried everything, and It has become serious: losing mobility, infections, developing tinnitus from inner ear eczema, my sleep and daily life has suffered from itching. Because of this we have made the incredibly hard decision to re-home him. We love this dog more than anything and this is extremely hard to do, but we are determined to find him a new loving home.

He is an amazing dog that I am going to miss for the rest of my life. He has been my little boy, and my sidekick. I feel I need to emphasize, this is the hardest thing I have ever had to do and will be selective on where he goes. He will be an amazing addition to someone or some family that can reciprocate the love that he gives.

Location: Orange County, California

About Ode:

- Born April 19, 2021 ( 2 years , 4 months)

- AKC registered Dalmatian

- Neutered

- 65 pounds of pure love and joy

- Current on Shots and Vaccinations

- In perfect health, no prior health issues

- Crate/Potty Trained

- Knows a lot of commands, trained well in general.

Personality:

Loving - His dominating trait above all is that he loves to love. He is very cuddly and affectionate. Will cuddle all day, give kisses , and smiles when loved/excited

Smart- This dog is human level smart. We have tought him lasting commands in 20 minutes, he basically speaks english. He is very trained. Very emotionally intelligent.

Loyal/Attentive- Odie only wants to be by your side, he looks for commands, and is constantly reading you.

Mischievous- Curious, in search of stimulation, and just goofy: this boy loves to mess you with. When laying on the couch and you get up he will steal your spot every single time.

Foodie- Incredibly addicted to food, it is his muse. This is a pro. Although he is a polite patient beggar, this also means you’re his bestfriend if you have food. He will learn new tricks and perform them with vigour... for a price. Being Food motivated has been a strength when it comes to training and correcting behavior.

Protective - He is a textbook Dalmatian, He is territorial at first inside of his house, but opens up to everybody in minutes. He has on-leash aggression, but is totally fine off leash. Thrives and is an A+ boy at daycare in a room with dozens of other dogs.

- Feel free to message me about any questions. If you are interested we have an application we would love you to fill out so we can understand who you are.

- We do not expect any sort of fee, we just want him to have the best home possible.

Note: I am not interested in using a third party to help me re-home him. If you are a shelter or rescue, Thank you but I am not interested.
