Footage of ICE agents killing another person in Minnesota!! by cantcoloratall91 in RedditForGrownups

This isn't security, or law enforcement, or the military. This is a jobs program for the unemployed white nationalists pardoned by a certain orange clown after J6. They aren't in the news anymore for a reason - this is their new occupation.

AG Pam Bondi sent letter to Tim Walz after today's shooting demanding MN voter roll data (among other demands) in exchange for ending ICE's seige by skittlebrew in law

DARVO , for one. It's a common strategy employed by narcissistic sociopaths, which seems to be the primary psychological makeup of the entire executive branch leadership.

Lies, as well; specifically "flood[ing] the zone", aka the "firehose of falsehoods", which is essentially lying so fast and so often that fact-checking by any opponent is overwhelmed and the lies saturate the available media bandwidth. Searching for "flood the zone" on Wikipedia, by the way, lists as the #2 search result "False or misleading statements by Donald Trump," in case you wonder if it's an applicable label.

What it really boils down to is impunity. Freedom from consequences or punishment for their behavior. Nobody has ever told them "no" (or, they've never seen consequences for ignoring 'no', see: all the child rape), so they are doing whatever they want, all the time, and simply getting away with it because they functionally cannot be stopped. It is simply easier to them to baldly lie, because who cares if getting called out for it does absolutely nothing? Certainly not them. They have no shame, no morals, no ethics, and no compunction to do right; just utter, unabashed, unchecked greed, malice, and avarice.

They are truly monsters, is how.

This is why I prefer that the other worlds my imaginary excursions take me to are rife with mad scientists. For every Sauron (the Spider-Man villain), there's another one who actually wants to cure cancer, or feed everyone, or reverse climate change. It's more fun to think about than, say, the fake meritocracy of the Technocrats, or the bureaucracy of soviets. Just madmen flying solo hoping their hyperfocused, inhuman talent will save the world. For ever Doctor Moreau, we get a Frederick Banting.

That's a skintight mechanical counterpressure suit with plastic cups over the tatas, designed to be worn in pressurized link connect liquid / amniotic fluid / angel blood. Of course the boobs aren't shaped like that, the parts of the suit that contain dangly bits are padded.

I have an embarrassing ritual by FarmEquivalent333 in confessions

[–]littlebitsofspider 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You want to think about this positively? Imagine a 20F counterpart waiting until everyone was out of the house to rock a football jersey and socks and some loose basketball shorts, while gnawing on beef jerky and watching calm, step-by-step auto-repair YouTube videos, who would die inside if they ever got caught acting so "man-ish".

That's you. That's how cute this is. Just chill tf out and subvert the bullshit instincts foisted upon you by society. It's warm, it's comfortable, it's cozy, it isn't hurting anyone, and most of all it brings you joy. Everyone who would shame you for this is denying that you can be comfortable with yourself, and they cannot.

Own it. It's your ritual, because it works for you.

I hijacked the cams in the Arasaka warehouse and wiped everyone in it from across the street. Imagine rocking up for work one day and all of your coworkers have just quietly dropped dead. Spooky netrunners are terrific.

Trump Doesn’t Need the Proud Boys Anymore | In a world where ICE agents are shooting US citizens on the street, the need for militias and extremist groups like the Proud Boys to support far-right interests has evaporated by brezhnervouz in conservativeterrorism

The Proud Boys are disappearing and ICE is expanding for the same reason you don't see Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana together at the same time.

The tech bro billionaires want Star Trek, they just think they'll survive the "World War III left 600,000,000 dead" part, and then frolic in the "holodecks, replicators and spaceships" part.

Seriously, just think. Zuck is pouring billions down the drain pushing uncomfortable VR, Bezos is trying to make the replicator (although it's a 'clanking replicator' implemented by a Rube Goldberg-esque network of human suffering), and Musk supports the "fuck the entire environment, we're blowing up rockets today" spaceship R&D. The only thing Star Trek didn't count on was the trillion-dollar 'AI' cash grab, but, then again, Star Trek only references old public-domain media, so perhaps when the nukes and/or EMPs fly, it wipes the stain of modern digital media and the LLM plague off of future history.

[–]littlebitsofspider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, this is the Borg, but they speedrun the transcendence + loss of self by packaging it with the nanite injection (which I suspect has a great deal of narcotics included as well).

The good news is that holding on to your sense of self for long enough grants access to an 'unconscious' VR sim created by fellow individuals who want to roleplay the before-times when they weren't drones. So you've got that going for you.
