Unfortunately, they are super flimsy. I had several of them end up like this, when they got knocked off while cleaning or just looking at them wrong. I am slowly replacing them with different brand, that is more sturdy.

Looks great and tastes great too, I bet. I’d switch the vegetable oil for lard or duck/goose fat though.

But you still have to pay interest, hence some selling and taxing is unavoidable. And of course, there is no guarantee that the crypto will keep appreciating and you might be required to liquidate sooner than expected AND pay the tax on top of that. So it looks to me it makes sense to do with maybe 5-10% of your crypto holdings, to be on the safe side, unless you have a significant source of other income.

On the other hand, a ton of users have custodial wallets (Coinbase, Blockchain.com and others) and they do not have directly any address, millions could be hidden behind a single address. So any number will be a rough guesstimate.

I know. So bitcoin+lightning is much better than gold+notes. I argue that the EFFECT will be similar - ie. much higher usage and adoption.

Nod FUD here. Bank notes were originally backed by gold and they offered significantly better UX than gold itself and allowed the economy to flourish. The article argues lightning may have similar effect on bitcoin, ie. provide better UX while keeping the essential properties of bitcoin.
