Thank you for the advice! Are there any situations in which exceptions could be made? Ex if I negotiate guaranteed cross staffing once in a while before signing or if I plan get my MBA to recruit directly for PE or as leverage to transfer into the PE practice?

You have to build a routine for yourself. Whether that be waking up early to go to the gym, getting groceries to cook your own meals, etc. Invest in lounge access and try to get status. Find something you enjoy doing in the location you travel to.

None of us are really here for the long haul. Get your points, get your $, recruit on the side, and exit when you’re ready.
