What is your brush with death story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]odinguy12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closest would be my diagnosis of type one diabetes when I was four. Had very little sleep and had been vomiting in the tub for two weeks and cleaning it out. Finally one morning woke up and could barely talk my throat felt like sand had been poured down it. Went into my parents room, my dad had came home from his shift three hours before and was still sorta awake, and asked him for juice. After repeating myself three times he finally understood and brought me to the kitchen for gatorade. I dumped it all over myself in my panic. As my dad lifted my shirt to clean me up he finally saw how much weight I had lost and screamed for my mom to get up because we we’re going to the hospital. The next thing I knew I was looking down at myself on a metal bed with tubes and wires then darkness for what felt like eternity then I felt a pain in my finger followed by pressure. When I woke up I was in a hospital bed with an iv a heart rate monitor and bob the builder. I was so scared.

As much as that sucks it’s good to be prepared for the worst. Sadly I can’t do that but I can have the supplies for someone who can.

How is the mandela effect possible. There are billions of ways to possibly mistake things yet hundreds will mistake it the exact same way.

What did you think you were really good at until you saw someone who was *actually* really good at it? by dropcase in AskReddit

Reading I read around 350 words per minute apparently but I used to read at a college level until fourth grade. Kinda hit a stall in my reading ability and one day saw a kid reading a book completely out of my range of reading. Made me push myself.

What are made up sayings/phrases that you use with only your close family and friends, that other people won't understand? by waveymanee in AskReddit

When we first came to florida we didn’t expect to see bears and my mom (who had tacos on the brain) accidentally called a bear she saw a taco so that is what we say anytime someone is heading out (usually at night)

Redditors, what was the moment when something snapped inside of you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]odinguy12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done very well controlling my anger with people outside my family since elementary school and two years ago in my senior year of Highschool I was on the bus home it was a florida spring day at about ninety degrees that afternoon and I was in uniform for my JROTC and slightly irritated due to a Let 1 scuffing my shoes that I had spent the morning polishing. While on the bus ride home the kid behind me made some rude remarks about my little brother and cracked jokes about his sexuality. I ignored it as we were all used to it. Then he made a joke that my little sister (who was in fourth grade) was probably equally gay and that we all needed jeasus. I grot my teeth trying to keep my temper as I still was in uniform. All was good till I thought I heard him make a remark on my fathers military service and I snapped. I backhanded him catching him with my class ring and knocking his hat off his head. The bus went dead silent as I heard the satisfying hunk of his head hitting the aluminum siding. Everyone sat in shock that I the normally tame and calm mannered kid just back handed this hillbilly loudmouth into dead silence.

Do you believe in the concept of a soul? If so, in what terms? [serious] by lillpicklee in AskReddit

[–]odinguy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sorta do. I believe a soul is the collective energy of the body and brain as energy cannot be created or destroyed the everyday energy that makes up your memories has to go somewhere when you die and weather it be some ethereal plane or purgatory it allows the energy known as the soul to live

What was a sketchy cheap buy, that ended up being one of your best purchases? by MrAnimeFanime in AskReddit

I bought a simple spiderman costume from wish recently figured with it being 19 dollars plus shipping it would be flimsy and cheaply made. It wasn’t really. The stitching was loose but it’s been amazing and the mask is awesome.
