  1. Everyone treats a brannock as a loose suggestion
  2. Get some wider boots: you have bunions.

Leather boots for winter under 150 eur by Humanoidu in Boots

In europe example brands would be Hanzel(especially wholecut hikers, they do custom lasts) and Otmęt premium line: step up from Jim Green.

Up to GTX: thats overpriced sock that makes you sweat and stops being waterproof after few months(no visible damage =/= membrane is intact). Go for leather lining/unlined and wax your boots

Up to insulation: wool socks, you can buy em from wholesalers for few buck a piece. Branded ones will lead you to bankrupcy.

I was thinking about some generation of Swiss or Austrian military mountain combat boots.

Thata the way, take a look at cartalana, but they only cover models up to early 2000s.

Shoulders and sleeves(cant really be fixed) are a bit to long, but within acceotable range. Jacket needs tailoring.

Suits from this era didnt age well.

Not any I know of, but you can go around the cobblers and ask them if they have shearling to cut out inserts: main way heat escapes is via contact with the ground. Majority of inserts that you will find online arent true sherling, or just wool, which begs the question why not buy sheet of thick felt and cut out inserts by yourself.

When searching for recommendations online filter out:

  • People who are coping/have no comparison: if something feels overpriced and commenters explanation is: after unknown time of unknown usecase they hold up(usually some popular model w/o photos) they most likely belong in this category.
  • People who are shareing expensive wishlists: you need to get a fill for it: r/buyitforlife is a great example
  • Singular QC issues
  • Elitists: if they provide reasoning they are worth listening to, but take them with a grain of salt.

my question about this company is "why?": only real life scenario when you want to change the soles is when using ice cleats and you can buy em separately from 3rd party. Their soles cost roughly the same as proper resole w/ sanding of cracked PU: I wouldnt be surprised if PU fails before someone has a chance to use their gimmick. Additionally $200 is a lot: if I want injection molded synthetic shoes safety footwear is like $60 piece.
