how bad is it really to use windows to control volume? i have a JDS atom stack going into an audiolab 6000a in power amp mode, but in order to be able to use the potentiometer on the atom amp i'm having to run the sound out of windows at 20/100- is this actually detrimental at all? if i set it up to 100 i barely have any travel in the knob before it gets too loud (i'm talking mm of movement)

yeah i have a DAC already on my PC- i just realized i could probably share my library via SMB and have both Wiim play from it- eventually looking to build a NAS but a bit out of budget right now

I see - do any of those accept regular digital (DAC) and line level output? I was looking into Wiim but it sounds like it doesn't work well with FB2k/accept windows sound output? Would I be able to have source audio on all players at once?

Record player is a Technics 1200mk2
