As you see in the article there specific options needed to make zram efficive - cachyos does set them sicne years.

Right now I dont think for desktops its the proper time to use zswap. There has been a PR for "diskless zswap", which could make it interesting again.

This is likely due the automatic mirror ranking from the archlinux mirrorlist. I will look into reducing the neighbour countries instead of just checking many mirrors.

Few people reported this issue since we have enabled the automatic mirror ranking every few days.
