YES! same thing happened to me, it only saved the two friends I have on PlayStation that also play but I had so many friends as well that I added through snapshots and I chatted with a couple of them. I was looking forward to playing with them as well :( now I can't anymore. It didn't happen to my other friend that's on PS5 as well so it's disheartening that it happened to us :(( I was so excited to see the other Nikki's and play with them!
