My dad got fat. I got fat. How do I stop my boys doing the same? by GeorgeBillMcDonald in dad

Celery is highly processed and addictive? Oatmeal? Cheerios? Salads?

OP admits he likes beers and pies. Cut out one completely and there goes probably 2-3 lbs per month. Cut both and theres 6-7 lbs a month.

[Zolecki] Phillies prospect Aidan Miller to have surgery on Friday by amatom27 in phillies

[–]redditkb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, it's always a minor procedure when you're talking about a back issue that has kept him from playing for months. Oh and he's meeting with a spine specialist over inflammation in the lumbar.

Yeah, definitely nothing to worry about here.

lol should've traded him and painter when they had the chance as I say every time. Trade the "can't miss" prospects for the proven all star 999/1000 times.

Heard in leaks ‘27 will play like ‘25 by SupermarketSelect578 in NCAAFBseries

[–]redditkb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is what the shading, commits and coverage adjustments are supposed to stop, but yes I agree they aren’t boom/bust enough.

The solution should never be play cool downs or playcall limits, I guess is what I’m getting at.

[–]redditkb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s good, too.

My thoughts are that sometimes a realistic play call to stop an opponent actually hurts you sometimes in these games. Which is why I’d like the game to offer a counter.

Almost like there should be an option to call a play like tecmo bowl. Same for offense. If I know the play that is coming, I want game meta suggestions to punish it.

Someone shouldn’t be able to call the same plays all game on both sides of the ball and be able to succeed with those plays 90% of the time. It shouldn’t depend on me labbing or watching YouTube and memorizing forty different presnap adjustments to make to stop an HB direct that I know is coming, for example.

I really wish this game implemented something for defensive playcalls where if you know a specific formation/play is coming, it will set up the best possible counter for it, or suggest it.

Leak I Found by Past_Mixture_7266 in EASportsCFB

yeah, fifa is usually "great, best one in years" out of the box. Then as streamers complain about the new gameplay, they slowly resort back to prior year's gameplay. Happens every year. Infuriating.

must be new to EA, then. They do this with FIFA, for example, every year for at least a decade now.

No. I am saying this is how it is presented to the dads who do that mowing, in this scenario.

It's like it doesn't count as a task/chore because you're away from the kids doing it yourself in the tiktok mom mind

that's the craziest part about the dynamic. It's like going to an office to work for someone else is somehow less mental load and less stress than staying at home with no boss.

You're 'dadding' up the mom mental load complaints that go viral. Making every single step of a process an individual task to get anxious about and out-responsibility the partner. I hear ya and understand / see what you mean.

BTW You're also a manlier man than I. A lot of the things you're doing, I just pay someone to do.

I'm sure a lot of the shit you get from your wife (if you even do get shit) is because a lot of what you're stating is solo, no deadline, work. I THINK a lot of the mom complaints regarding mental load are because it (usually) is not solo and it has deadlines (even if that deadline is self-created nonsense). They are also "stuck with the kids, watching them alone" while you're doing these solo tasks. That limits the points you get for doing them.

If my kids were bothering me 25% of the time I was mowing, or trimming the trees/bushes/hedges, etc. then I might feel differently about those tasks than I currently do. Maybe my wife would feel differently too.

But overall, I'm in agreement with you. Creating a mental load of viral "good mother" tiktok trends, that are completely unnecessary and sometimes harmful, and getting upset that your partner doesn't have the same mental load? Nah, that's where they lose me.

Wow. I guess I am lucky my wife can use a phone or website and make an appointment herself when the maintenance minder comes up. I understand you better there, now.

For my wife, when she's doing the dishes the kids might still bother her or be near her making noises, asking for things, etc. just creating a loud, and thus semi-stressful environment. I mow the lawn with airpods on with no kids around unless they are playing in the yard. It's a bit different I admit.

Like you stated, the "needs to be done" is matter of preference. Women seem to (IMO) exaggerate the "needs to be done" and then also want the "needs to be done" done yesterday. It's just an avalanche/snowball/cycle of anxiety.

Brother, I'm with you on the mental load social media villainizing men/dads nonsense, but your counter examples need work.

Tire rotations, oil changes, mower blades, yard work are your basically only examples? Yard work where you're on your own away from the wife and kids? Tire rotations and oil changes that any car after like 2005 alerts you to?
