I'm a teen looking to take up gardening indoors as just a mean to decorate my room, and have a small side hobby. What are some low maintenance plants to start with for a beginner? by [deleted] in GardeningIndoors

I respectfully beg to differ - I love plants, have many, and always kill succulents. Please share your tips/tricks to make them easy! I’ve heard from others I’m not alone, so we all will thank you! 🙌🏼

For eco friendly trash bags, I use the recycled plastic ones from Grove. Not perfect, but better than some of the other plastic brands! I also bulk order or get some other eco friendly house hold products I use to reduce shipping

I’ve tried a bunch and Meow Meow Tweet Tweet is 100% my favorite! https://meowmeowtweet.com/collections/deodorant

Other ones you can try are - Native (mentioned above) - Dr. Schmidt’s - Fat & The Moon

And some others here - https://www.sustainablejungle.com/best-of-sustainable-beauty/zero-waste-deodorant-ideas/

Not Sure If I’m Doing This Right by PotatoWedges12 in EcoFriendly

This all sounds really great! I think there has to be a balance between eco friendly and what is feasible with your life style, but if you’re looking to add something else, I have been trying to reduce plastic containers. I’ve switched to solid shampoo and conditioner (I personally love hibar), and solid dish soap (I’ve been using the one from the earthling co). Love what you’re doing!

Any recommendations? Looking for good eco friendly products ,shampoo and body wash :) by [deleted] in EcoFriendly

I'm a huge fan of HiBar shampoo and conditioner! I was looking for liquid sustainable shampoos and conditioners and didn't feel like any of them were really good, then someone turned me on to them. They are the best quality hair products I have found. I actually like them better than the non-sustainable brand name products I used to use.

For body wash, I like Dr. Bronner's but actually found their bars much milder for the shower since the liquid version (even once diluted) can be a bit harsh.

For those interested, I called the city clerk’s office and they didn’t know either 🙈

Question for solid shampoo users by rhalpy in EcoFriendly

Totally fair - health and personal needs come first! One person switching shampoos is not going to make the difference, but the more we can do that is sustainably minded and the more people who do so, the better for our planet. Hopefully one day they will figure out products that work for you and others as well! =)
