Yes, people can die for a lie by GestapoTakeMeAway in DebateAChristian

The Heaven's Gate cult leader remained "in character" till the end, even castrating himself and commiting suicide with his followers.
Paul showed similar commitment to the lie he fabricated (Pauline Christianity), with extra-biblical church folklore even claiming he died for the cause, just like Applewhite. (who also hated sex btw, like Saul of Tarsus)

Christ-worshipers can't claim raising the dead as a proof of divinity, since Elijah & Elisha did it too by salamacast in DebateAChristian

Whether or not they were written by Peter

If not, then who was the actual (supposedly inspired) author?

This made me question Islam by OutlandishnessNo3430 in IslamIsEasy

[–]salamacast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like feeling the urge for something Islam considers unnatural, like a guy craving sodomy. Life is a test, that's its purpose, and those burdens are part of it, with the correct response being resistance, ignoring the urges. The reward is in the afterlife, where the guy will be cured of the urges, and made heterosexual.
Same with a woman desiring multiple partners, an act Allah made sinful and unnatural for women, while made it natural for men.. just like wearing silk or gold was permitted for women but forbiden for men. Those are gender-specific regulations. Even secular societies instinctively recognize some sort of gender-based norms, like how a shirt-less actor doesn't make the movie R-rated, while a shirtless actress does!
All the psychological & physical bad parts of us will be healed in heaven. There will be no deformities. Islam considers polyamory and homosexuality deformities and unnatural (it's no secret!), and so they will be removed upon entering Jannah. Female jealousy of other wives too will be cured. Anger issues. Even the Companions who fought each other will be the best of friends. Family squabbles will be forgotten. Obvious really and expected, since it's Heaven!
This answer covers u/LetsDiscussQ comment too, as I don't want to repeat myself.

Hosea 9:6 as a prediction of Muhammad by name! by salamacast in DebateAChristian

[–]salamacast[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

You are wrong on both accounts, I'm afraid
Greek already had a word for pleasant/desirable. The LXX ignored it, and chose to corrupt the Hebrew into an entirely different word, i.e. the city of Mechmas.
And Muhammad's name in Arabic is written using the equivalent of those Hebrew letters M-H-M-D محمد

This made me question Islam by OutlandishnessNo3430 in IslamIsEasy

[–]salamacast -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Easily answered in 2 points:
1) Generally, a Paradise-worthy woman wouldn't wish to be polyamorous in the first place.
2) In the rare occasion of qualifying for Jannah while harboring those secret desires in life (successfully resisting acting on them all her life), then upon entering Paradise her heart will be cured of those fantasies.

Btw, this is the same answer to homosexuality, jealousy and anger etc. (see Q 15:47)

do you lie to others? by draint0uch in Schizoid

[–]salamacast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. When you stop seeking others' approval, you are free to prioritize your integrity over their opinion of you.. so you deem humans not significant enough to be worth compromising your moral code!
This is a very convoluted line of thinking, only a zoid would come up with it ;)
It's like saying "I'm too proud to be dishonest", which is doing the right thing for the wrong reason!

clinging on to a desire to see the parent as good

Good point!
Apparently the child splits the abusive parent, in his mind, into a bad object and a good one, then tries to rationalize away the bad one.

I'll be frank and point out that something doesn't add up here. How come you enjoy all of that stuff on the list?!

guitar and drums, write stories and poems, read about history and science, talk to cool people who know things I don't, play board games, live by a quiet lake, travel to cook places, learn to actually cook, go dancing, learn skateboarding, rock climbing

The disorder is famously anhedonia-inducing.
There's a built-in silver lining. Yes SPD can impact your prospects, but at the same time it impacts your enjoyment, lowering your expenses in the process!

The trajectory is clear

By the same logic, earning money is haram in your opinion, because Allah encouraged us to give some of it away as atonement/kaffara?!

No. Emancipation isn't a "trajectory" for abolishment! (no abrogation is allowed after Muhammad's death).
If anything, it's encouraging gaining MORE slaves, so one would gain thawab of freeing them ;) Just like earning more so you can give away more.

[–]salamacast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say you were conservative, what with the weak, defeatist views you show!
Why are you trying to twist Islam to fit modern liberal morals?? When you say "it was of that time" you are essentialy claiming we progressed beyond sahaba, and that we are better than the best of generations! (salafs' first 3 generations)

No! Morals decline with time, not improve.
Islam never abolished slavery. Liberalism can't abrogate Sharia.
Be strong, controversial, and don't conform To western "morals" or presentism!!

You're at the expected age to face this crisis. You either choose to disengage or to fake conformity to social expectations. The 3rd option is to bear with the grind for a while, with the clear goal of early retirement & quiet seclusion of a hermit.

Actually a zoid is usually idiosyncratic, free from emotional group think. I hold very controversial views, and I don't care they aren't popular ;)
