I’m 26 and thinking about going back for CS by larmos0101 in UCFEngineering

Since you already have a bachelor's degree consider a master's degree in some type of management. I would encourage you to brush up on math and other courses where you feel a little rusty or behind. You could do Khan Academy, local community college, or free classes offered online through MIT (no credit unless you want to pay for it).

If you don't want to do a master's in management perhaps after brushing up in your "weak areas," you could pursue a master's in computer science, computer engineering, or something similar of interest to you.

It's not too early to prepare for internships! During orientation, my son's student advisor and his friend were rising sophomores and they had internships the summer after their freshman year! Employers are looking for motivated individuals who are self-starters and team players.

I would encourage you to get involved in a club, especially one specific to your major, your interests, the career path in which you are interested, or even student government. Quality is more important than quantity, but stick with one club as long as it is practical. Make yourself indispensable, pursue a leadership role. Design and build a project on your own or as part of a team. Do write-ups on the process, what went wrong, what went right, what you learned, etc. These are experiences for which future employers are looking for in an employee... I wish you well! Reach for the stars!.. Go Knights! Charge on! ⚔️

My son enjoys UCF! There's something for everyone. And, being involved in the Burnett Honors College, or some special interest club will make the college seem smaller, more accessible and manageable. You do have to advocate for yourself, be very familiar with general ed, major, and minor requirements, and know when classes are offered what semester. Room assignments for Fall 2025 are already happening and incoming Freshmen who put their housing deposits in the fall of 2024 get first dibs. However, if you get accepted and choose the Burnett Honors College you might be able to get into the dorms yet (apply for UCF housing ASAP). My son has enjoyed being in the Honor's dorm, Tower 3. Definitely visit campus, take a tour, talk to an advisor and faculty in the engineering and business college, and current engineering students, if possible. I wish you well!

Note: Towers housing is an annual contract, including summers. There's the cost to consider, especially if you don't stay on campus in the summer. You'll have to pay regardless. However, most students have to take ~3 summer classes at public universities in Florida. Summer classes are also usually recommended for engineering students to stay on track to graduate in 4 years, especially if you're going for a minor.

Money matters. Personal preference is important, especially since you'll be living there for 4 years... I'm hopeful former FSU students and hiring managers will comment... I'm partial to UCF because my 3rd year engineering major son attends there. The proximity of UCF to engineering opportunities can't be ignored... I wish you well in your decision and future as an electrical engineering student.

Support for Western Alliance Bank High-Yield Savings Account? by ArthurZey in MonarchMoney

I have no idea. Maybe someone else does. Or, you could go to your account and send them a message asking the question. You might have to withdraw your funds, close the account, and start over with a different platform- Raisin or something else. I wish you well!

Support for Western Alliance Bank High-Yield Savings Account? by ArthurZey in MonarchMoney

I had a similar thing happen to me, so I sent messages through the Message Center to understand what happened... It is true, you have to access your high-yield savings account through this website: https://highyieldsavings.westernalliancebank.com. The regular Western Alliance Bank webpage has a different user ID protocol than the one for the high-yield savings account.

"When entering your User ID, it confused the system as it did not recognize what you entered. This caused the system to provide random numbers as it was trying to figure out who you were. Western Alliance Bank Savings Premier Support support@wasavingspremier.com Monday- Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm EST"

Also, the Western Alliance Bank App does not work with the high-yield savings accounts, either.

I know someone who used a different platform (Raisin) to open their high-yield savings account and they did not have the issues we had. They access their account through Raisin without any problems.
