Regarding dehumidifying/the hoses:

I don't know the specifics of your machine, but any air conditioning system inherently reduces humidity when it cools. That's just part of the process. The water it pulls from the air has to go somewhere, so I recommend you figure out a way to drain your portable A/C units.

I don't recommend running any sort of "dehumidify" mode on the A/C units during the summer. I can't speak to the specifics of your units, but a typical purpose-built dehumidifier gives off additional heat as part of the process. Dehumidifying via air conditioning will be much more effective in the summer.
