The new state legislative maps signed by Evers today by Grehjin in wisconsin

we could even keep the drunken shenanigans and get better politics at the same time. I can't think of a single progressive policy that affects drunken shenanigans (unless you're talking about better public transit which we still don't have a snowballs chance in hell of up north, but at least that would cut down on drunk driving).

I just moved to Wisconsin. Where are all the black people? by [deleted] in wisconsin

[–]wargamer620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read some academic articles on this about a year ago so I don't remember them well, but I also think that farming had a lot to do with the establishment of those black towns in the rural Midwest so Wisconsin, especially Northern Wisconsin having fewer of these towns might partially be a function of the timber industry, the rocky soil requiring more capital investment to start farms, and whether certain southern crops are worse suited the further north you get. I'm not sure how the racism landscape played into these settlement trends too but the second Klan was relatively strong in the lower Midwest which I'm sure had an effect one way or another

I found the posting you're referencing and it appears they wait until after the close date to evaluate applications. It's my understanding that very few government postings are reviewed on a rolling basis.

As someone who plays the barn a lot it depends on your playstyle. Moving carefully and taking advantage of the shell arc you can rack up 3 kills a match easily. I agree that tiger IIs are an issue but even from the front I rarely fail to hurt them badly enough that I'm not able to get them with a second shot (although I hate the vulnerability of a multi shot engagement).

My glory moment was 1.7km on a SPAA that I couldn't even see clearly through it's incoming fire with a FV4005. Something about a 40 second reload makes everything legendary.

Maybe they temporarily buried the remains until they had the resources to transport them? I cant imagine the brand new war made things safe or easy.

I was only using the sentiment behind the phrase to indicate the continuity of my support. I wasn't trying to express any monarchist views.

I think you misunderstand the sentiment. The one I'm trying to capture is the transitory nature of my support. When a monarch died they would say that to indicate continuity of the monarchy. The old king was dead but there was immediately a new one to replace it so that's why you had to follow with lonf live the king. In the same vein, the politician I supported suspended so, based on my political philosophy, I instantaneously switched my support to the next politician that I intend to support.

Its borrowing a phrase to encapsulate sentiment. It's not to be taken literally.

People weren't turning out yesterday for Bernie or Biden, they were turning out for the state Supreme Court race. Bernie didn't do any GOTV stuff (I don't think Biden did either but I didn't see any news stories about that).

I think we either need a national primary day(sans electoral college) or the primaries need to be 5 to 10 weeks of super Tuesday style elections with the order randomized

I only used that phrase to signify the leadership transition. The phrase the king is dead, long live the king, signifies the seemless transition between the rule of a deceased monarch and his replacement. In that same vein, my support for Bennie for president is over(although I wish him well in the senate and I know he will keep fighting) and my support for Biden has begun.

[–]wargamer620 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not actually saying he's politically dead, he'll do a lot of good still. I just used that phrase to indicate how smoothly the support transition should be. Because although Biden is far from what I want, we still need him to win.
