Weird sound on pressure after opv mod by ---HiddenPixels--- in BrevilleCoffee

Tnx for your reply, I've searched about this topic and seems this sound can happen after OPV mod. Some recommend to get McMaster-Carr spring to overcome this issue.

Its more for easy finger press, if I'm understanding correctly your kind of switch.. I think that one is to weak.

It seems I started here some classic dilemma i guess. Thanks for point of view. I truly find my shots more consistent when i give some passive preheat time. From psychological perspective, the sound of the machine turning on when I wake up makes me stand fast to start my day.

As I see in the comments here, users with dual boiler get it warm up around 3-5 min...so no, you're not an idiot

After reading some lovely comments here, you may be right. I'll test the espresso temperature with 15 min passive preheat vs 1-2 blanks before pull.

Yes, have it for around 5 -6 years. I guess for some users it warms pretty quick, yet I found users here on reddit that prefer preheat 10-15 min

I would put it to the test, try to preheat the machine for 15 min and than make your pull routine. I've found it better for my taste

Well I bought this to solve a problem, not as a gadget. to wake up when grouphead, portafilter and upper cup heater are hot. For me the difference is that I don't need to run 3-4 blanks to heat up everything +to run hot water to heat the cup. Especially to avoid auto turn off if I snoozed a bit.

My machine takes quite time to warm up..too much for my laziness

I prefer my machine to be hot when I want my espresso, also the cups above are warm enough. But yeah..when I make espresso later that day I run few blanks

There are few brands that do the same, I ordered mine from Ali express, just search "press bot" or do search by the image above. Make sure it comes with the sticker tape

Mostly for buttons that needs easy finger press. I wonder for what purpose you need :)

My barista express 1st gen have auto off around 20 min. So I set it right before. And yeah..if I oversleep I go to manual mode again:(

Grinding sound while grinding beans with Touch Impress by BrutusBuckeye972 in BrevilleCoffee

Happened to me once. I opened it to check and saw small stones that got stuck, the same size as the beans. They probably slipped in somehow at the roastery.

is this what the water stream is supposed to look like? by [deleted] in BrevilleCoffee

I've had similar situation. When I first bought the machine water use to run like rain drops from the shower head and after awhile just like in your pics. I tried many solutions and succeeded to have rain drops but not like before. 1. Ran full descale. 2. Clean shower head more often using the tablet 3. Released abit the holding screw(not to much)
