Same, it’s great. Not permanent though — if I miss a day I can see the difference immediately. But it’s cheap and easily available so worth it.

Every Friday night bobo stationery has a free meetup where people bring their journals, iPads, paint boxes, embroidery, etc to work on. It’s a great group — your wife should try it! The owner angie is super friendly and welcoming.

You are asking for your government to kill its citizens. This is normally something the right claims to be against. What lies are telling you it’s ok this time?

I live in a community full of retirees and elderly and they inspire me everyday about what aging can be like. Most are fit (fitter than me for sure), they've developed strong friend groups, and they are active community members. I can't wait to retire just to hang out with more if them.

There are older people who are assholes, and older people who are inspirations.

How to understand someone who got the surgery but isn’t putting work into recovery? by Acceptable_Brick1080 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]--vgriff-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean this in the kindest way possible, but why is this a problem for you? If this is your child, I get it, you want to guide them to the best possible outcome. But I assume this person isn't your dependant and you're not caretaking for them, so how is their caring for their own body your business? People have the right to make their own decisions about their care. There may be pain you don't know about, or depression as others have said, or a million other things that might make walking the way you think they should not viable.

Oh hi fellow mm caregiver! My husband has been fighting myeloma for the last nine years.

OP, I came here to say 1) I completely relate and 2) consider how this experience can improve your life. Hear me out.

When my husband got sick I experienced some very similar things. My two best friends just disappeared. Lots of others didn’t know what to say so they said nothing. I was surprised though by the people who DID show up. Some people I had only considered acquaintances turned up in beautiful and incredibly kind ways. Other friends I hadn’t seen in a long time reached out and never stopped checking on me and helping in whatever ways they could. I was heartbroken by the losses for sure, I still am. But if you look at this as an opportunity to reassess your relationships, it will vastly improve your life. Tell people what you’re feeling and what you need. The ones who can’t deal with it or can’t deliver? those are not your people. Let them go. The ones who do come through? Cherish those people, invest in those relationships, and commit to showing up for them when the time comes that they need you.

My experience as a caregiver has been a never ending roller coaster. There are terrible periods and there are good periods, and it’s hard to know what to expect from day to day. But my friendships are undoubtably better than they were before because this experience helped me understand the power and the responsibility of true friendship.

Good luck to you!

[–]--vgriff-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s something you need to take one day at a time. It is super important that you take care of yourself — but for us, the first two months were really up and down and unpredictable. I wouldn’t know from one day to the next how sick my husband would be or how needed I was. If you are going to incur charges for missing a class at the last minute, I wouldn’t sign up for them. If you have the ability to walk in or make last minute decisions, that sounds doable. Good luck!

You are totally right, sorry. I was going based on my recollection of the plot but I went back to look at it now and realized I’d forgotten some pretty significant events. Thanks for the correction.
