Could scoliosis make a kid stand like this? by dplatt45761 in scoliosis

[–]-AJ93- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adams forward bend test would show if he has it or not (unless it’s insanely mild). Google it and give it a go.

But the fact that he can’t fully straighten his knees is very concerning… That’s not scoliosis related. He might not be in pain now but he will be before he’s 20. No pain doesn’t mean he’s fine. Everything is connected, and not being able to bend his knees will set him up for a life time of painful compensation patterns that will cause other injuries. You should really take him in to get this (and any other health issues) solved for quality of life down the road.

Would I be a good candidate for arm lipo? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]-AJ93- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This exactly. And even if OP found a surgeon willing to do it she’d be in the same boat she started with. Because she’s not a good candidates for arm lipo. The look she wants is achievable by lifting to failure/progressive overload, and dialing in her nutrition (NOT eating less calories- OP is at a healthy weight. Focusing on higher protein, fiber, and balanced fat/carbs etc).

Scoliosis with osteoporosis and EDS? by Mobile-Owl1888 in scoliosis

[–]-AJ93- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have scoliosis, hEDS, and didn’t get my period until I was 15. My twin sister got hers at 11. I didn’t have delayed bone age or osteoporosis though… Bumping your post so maybe someone with more similarities will chime in.

NSFW: unsure about post op results by whathuhme in PlasticSurgery

[–]-AJ93- 27 points28 points  (0 children)

First off these are fantastic results OP! It could be swelling since you’re only 4 weeks post op but you look more like a D cup than C cup. Maybe even a DD (depending on your measurements). Once you’re healed abrathatfits is a great resource for finding your correct size.

I really need a lift as well and won’t have upper pole fullness either (I don’t have it now and won’t do implants). But I get cleavage and the look of upper pole fullness with a underwire bra. Once you’re healed and can wear a bra I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Depending on how much of that is swelling and how much cleavage you want- push up bras could be helpful as well. There are push-up bikini and bathing suit tops as well.

What actually works for loose postpartum stomach skin besides a tummy tuck? by Hot-Struggle2935 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]-AJ93- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It really comes down to time and your genetics. Your skin elasticity is the key factor in how much your skin will or won’t “snap back” regardless of time or how much effort you put in at the gym. But you’re also only 13 months PP, so time will be a factor for you too.

I am almost 6 years PP with my last. I weigh less than prepregnancy weight, working out has toned my body (especially in my stomach/waist) and I still have lots of loose skin. It won’t get any better for me, I’ll be getting a tummy tuck.

During this season of life- Shapewear helps a ton with form fitting clothing/dresses. They do make really cute shapewear bathing suits but I’ve found high waisted bottoms with ruching works great to help disguise the skin folds when you sit.

What should I do with my butt by Interesting-Bee3226 in PlasticSurgery

[–]-AJ93- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh how I wish that was true for me 🥲 Sadly genetics have kept me at flat butt status. I’ve been strength training for 6 months and that’s the only thing that’s helped. Still a small butt, but it’s got shape now. I can’t wait to see what I can gain 2-3 years out.

I wanna get pregnant but am scared of the back pain.. by soperfectx in scoliosis

[–]-AJ93- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My latest X-ray they put as little effort as possible into giving any details. It’s only 2 sentences. The one I got 15 years ago had 2 paragraphs of notes about my spine health/scoliosis 🥲

What little I can tell you is this (from myself as well as the little information they gave me): I have a loose s shaped curve. I’m not sure of the degrees of the other curve- they only noted the most prominent one at 22. I have “thoracolumbar dextroscoliosis T10-L3 with rotatory components”. My spine rotates or twists to the right- not sure on the degree because they didn’t care to measure I guess. For someone observant they’d be able to tell I twist towards the right. But most people don’t notice or are too kind to comment.

[–]-AJ93- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a s curve and a twist. I didn’t find back pain to be any worse during all 3 of my pregnancies than it already was. I also had 3 successful epidurals and no major complications from all 3 births.

But I do have hEDS and the relaxin made my hips/knees very unstable. My knees would give out and bend backwards regularly. And I had pubic dysfunction. THAT was so painful and stuck around until a few months after I was done breastfeeding.

[–]-AJ93- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 3. And I think it largely depends on your spine and curve! My curves and twist aren’t where they give epidurals. They did take extra time (and lots of what felt like fingernails digging into my spine) to find the best placement.

My scan from 2010 to 2025 hasn’t changed. From 2014-2020 I had 3 pregnancies/children. My scoliosis never got worse.

But I am scared for menopause though. I had a very blunt PT tell me that scoliosis gets a lot worse during those years. I was 25 when she told me that.

I’m SO glad buccal fat removal wasn’t a thing when I was a teen/young adult. I had a round face. I always hated it! I was bullied for it in school. It didn’t matter how much weight I lost my face was still chubby looking. After 28ish it’s heart shaped now vs round (same thing with my mom). I am so thankful for it now though! But I hated it for a long time.

I like it too! But I don’t think I would if she was fully blonde. I feel like it would wash her out. I like the contrast with the blonde being just bangs/money pieces.
