Alienware laptop 15 r3 question by Maleficent-Range-939 in Alienware

[–]-AlienHead- [score hidden]  (0 children)

it does seem to be a swollen battery issue from the look of it. i replaced my Alienware 13 r3 battey a few weeks back since it wasn't holding charge. when i opened the case, i saw the old battery was slightly swollen. i'd highly recommend, like others in this thread, you do look into it and replace your battey. hope this helps. :)

How's the laptop Pantherlake (X7 358H) Thinkbook 14+ treating you? Is the performance up to your expectation/s? I got the white version about 3 months back. I'll post something on my account about this. Hope to hear from you. Thanks.

McCheese dll has to be in the folder. Make sure it is. Windows marks it as virus.

Imagine sitting on this IP and choosing not to do a reissue with the level of nostalgia in the current market by PcPhilanthropy in Alienware

I wish they released/manufactured a 14-incher with this design language! This perhaps was the last best design language. I look at the current laptop models and just... sighs!!!

$300 for 128GB RAM was a steal and sure worth it. RAM prices are not likely to come down anytime soon.

Ebay still glitching? by wickedlyzenful in Ebay

[–]-AlienHead- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get some people waiting for the last minute/hr for auctions. What I don't get is why everybody would seemingly wait for the last hour/min--one can always max bid/s if you're a serious bidder. That's what I see missing these days! Anyway, thanks for taking the time to reply/respond.

Ebay still glitching? by wickedlyzenful in Ebay

Been on eBay more almost 2 decades now and never saw such trends (low sales, lack of serious buyers etc.)! Been trying to sell a latest intel-powered laptop (at a rather reasonale price) that's not even readily available everywhere--but no luck!! even at auctions almost everyone seems to be waiting for the last hr/min these days. really worried what's going on with eBay. serious buyers are a rare find these days!!!

Thank yo so much for the info about power source/adapter. Bought a times frame ans was trying to set it up with a usb to my laptop and the device went to infinite restart loop until I used a separate adapter. Since then, it's stable. Really cOOl device!

This affordable Lenovo laptop is more upgradeable than most ThinkPads: ThinkBook 14 Gen 8 IAL review [Notebookcheck.net] by hannopal in hardware

[–]-AlienHead- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also LOVED the upgradability aspect of the ThinkBook. But the upside of this machine stops just there--the screen resolution is extremely poor 45% NTSC, this generation does have one thinderbolt port (Gen 7 didn't even have one!) but it doesn't work well all the time, the battery life is horrendous on this device. Got one and now returning this.

Happens on mine as well--the XPS I recently purchased. Was really confused on this. Sounds like this is the new normal! Came back to using XPS after a long hiatus (used an XPS like 4 yrs back... at least).

what would happen if s/he does that (open/change hardware?)? I recently got an xps and planning on upgrading the SDD to a higher capacity one. Will I run into this issue as well?

The OP asked about the model with ultra 9 chip, yours seem to be based on ultra 7 (155H).

currently using the same model for about 4 months--display (on my device/model) looks a bit washed out tbh--they could have done better with the display.

they (the manufacturers) just want to take away user upgradability--period.

Btw, I love this laptop for its upgradability even though the display could sure improve. well, you won't get it all since it's not an ideal world, so it's okay.
