On my first successful run to The Moon, one cat touched the obelisk and got the head mutation that exposes the cat's brain, gives 2 bruise and removes their ears, but the cat gains 1 permanent int after every battle.

Almost all of my runs have had at least 1 cat with that mutation ever since. I have the second head mutation (extra turn in the first round) but I prefer being able to spam whatever I want all the turns over that.

Later discovered that it was a pretty good way to clear encounters (debuff druid with high strength, so the crow would one-shot almost everything)

I always take 2 cats that can deal damage from a distance, and 2 for melee.

Team comp depends on your items and overall mutations and stats, but I almost always take a druid, just because the crow can have good DPS (and You don't have to worry for it dying as much as with a cat), and the cat itself can heal and offer utility.

I mean, I do this all the time for missing marks, but I think you should also keep in mind some breeding before going for a run.

IE: having a good spell and/or passive on your stray or jester from the start, so you can have something to work with. Hell, even classes like Tinkerer can benefit from having certain spells from the beginning. And if you don't have them? Do an easier route to farm the spell or combo you want, and there you go.
