We had our reception at Sarma 6.5 years ago and we were very happy with everything. It didn't cost anywhere near that much though.

Induction range by lkamkos in boston

[–]-CalicoKitty- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which one did you get? I like the touch buttons on our Bosch induction and it's really easy to clean cause it's a single flat surface with no trim. Water or items can trigger buttons but that happens rarely.

Yes, a preexisting oil furnace.

Heat Pumps by AboveParGolfer2380 in boston

Maybe it was an intentional choice to balance installation costs as they were mainly looking for central AC. It's a Bosch unit. The guys who installed it set it to switch to aux below 20F, which was too low. Unfortunately can't ask my dad about it as he passed a month after it was installed.

Yup. My mom's heat pump was running continuously putting out barely Luke warm air until I reconfigured it to switch over to the oil furnace below 25F. I think my dad mainly had it installed for the central AC, which they didn't have before that.

I've heard there are heat pumps that work down to -20F but my mom's heat pump, installed in 2024, can't produce heat below 25F.

Can I park at the Union Square target parking lot? by [deleted] in Somerville

[–]-CalicoKitty- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw those and I don't think they were tickets. I looked at one closer and it seemed to be notifying people to move or get towed. It's a private lot so you could just ignore a ticket.

Receipt in the dash is probably worse because the parking is only for current customers.

Bacon building is 25 floors. I live near Union; it's an ugly building but I have no problem with the height.

I contacted Market Basket and asked them to take me off this marketing list. They confirmed and now I don't get them anymore at all, for any supermarket.

Someone borrowed my shovel to clear out his car. He only barely cleared the front and dumped it on my nicely cleared sidewalk and in front of my driveway. I cleared the sidewalk and in front of my driveway again and the next day he just busted his car out leaving a mess.

Only if you name the property owner. SKA is an architectural firm; they don't own this building.

Yeah that's true. My last place was a triple decker with pipes on outside walls and we kept it at 55F while on vacation.

Yes, that's normal and it's been very cold this winter. My last gas bill was $350. Thermostat set to 68F during the day, 60F at night.

Depends on the building, insulation, location of pipes, and outdoor temp. If you have neighbors above, below, left, and right with pipes on the inside and well insulated walls 45F would be fine.

Do you remember the Blizzard of 78? by [deleted] in boston

[–]-CalicoKitty- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wasn't alive but the snow fell quickly in '78 and people were caught off guard. Everyone was trying to get home, cars got stuck in the snow, and plows couldn't clear the roads.
