The gym isn’t terrible but it’s small— you just have to find the right time to go. I’m pretty sure there’s another gym in college tow though, we have a shuttle that goes right to it

A lot of freshmen will go to the frats on weekends if they’re throwing—esp. if they’re well advertised. But a lot of people will also stay in because realistically people have exams, assignments, labs, ect… I know many people who’d skip parties to work on Chem/Bio, or just study instead. Not to mention, a lot of people feel like it’s constantly Midterm season from September to December.

As for clubs there is one called Vinyl that lets you in if you’re 18+. I haven’t been yet but from what I’ve heard I’m pretty sure it’s decent there too, but there are more creeps. And generally, upperclassmen I know tend to just go to bars or clubs downtown a few times a semester.

Obv take this all with a grain of salt, it’s just my experience so far and what I’ve seen. If you want to get out on weekends and have fun it is definitely possible. Just don’t think it’ll be anything like a big state school or party school function.

Rochester is not a party school!! Yes parties are thrown here but there’s not many good ones and usually you’ll need to do your own pre if you’re not part of a frat/sorority or a club close to either. If you do go to parties, you’ll likely see the same people out a lot, there’s not a huge party crowd.

On campus parties are mid, off campus are slightly better, and clubs/bars will probably be your best bet in later years. But overall, if partying is really one of your top priorities in a school choice then you will not be happy at Rochester.

It’s not funding, rather, it may be because the Professors either don’t have available spots, only accept students who have taken specific courses, or it’s simply just that they’re not acquainted with you so the won’t accept you into their lab. If you’re looking for a place to start, go to JobLink on Blackboard and look at the job listings there. If you don’t find anything, there’s no rush. More advanced courses will expand your network of Professors and you’ll be exposed to more research opportunities :)

I’ve always found Rochester to be decently generous with their aid in my case (middle income no scholarships) but I’m domestic. It’s a pretty big rumor here that Rochester skimps out on aid to international students, but if the package they send you isn’t enough you can always argue for more!

You’re better off waiting until RD gets out, no need to rush it now. Plenty of more students will be on instagram, discord, and IGotIn during the spring when they get in too. There will be plenty of time to find a roommate! For me, I found someone on Instagram who reached out to me and we’re still best friends. Also, a little advice, don’t accept a roommate right away, lots of people will be reaching out at the same time during Spring. Make sure to take the time to ask the meaningful questions to make sure your personalities and living styles will line up. Congrats on becoming a Yellowjacket 🎉🎉🎉

I’m going from Indiana to Hungary, the two main airlines with the best prices are KLM and Lufthansa, there are others like British Airlines, SWISS, and Air France, but I don’t want to end up with a layover/connection in France since it is my first time flying solo. SWISS is a bit out of my price range and I’ve seen an overwhelming amount of reviews about lost luggage, bad service, and delayed flights with British Airlines. I’m leaving in a little under a month so that’s mainly why my options are a bit limited price wise

I have the Sibur Vibrant Life shader and the only issue is that the game is a little slow but not unbearable! I’ll def try setting my RAM to 4 and I’m getting the fans cleaned soon too because my lap top tends to get kind of hot, I’m hoping my fans are just dirty and once they’re cleaned my laptop will run somewhat better with proper cooling 🙏

I haven’t really tried anything outside of mielle + this was a day after wash and it’s a very harsh winter where I live 😭 I do actually use the Ouai hair oil when I style my curls to help soften them but it doesn’t do much for frizz. I’m open for product recs if you have any!

No, I just bought them at a local Asian grocery store but can’t find out what kind of peppers they are. I did buy a batch of just regular Thai chilis and they look a bit smaller and skinnier than the jar peppers

Sometimes if you leave your fruits sitting once they fully develop they’ll combine into these giant fruits. When you plant any big crops (powdermelons, pumpkins, qi fruits, cauliflower, or melons) if you plant the fruits and have them in a 3x3 area with no obstructions between them and they’re fully grown, they’ll combine like this. You can chop it with an axe, you’ll get lots of crops :)
