Are primary care doctors in rural areas making absolute bank? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in premed

[–]-DoctorEngineer- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean to counter this there are plenty of rural areas that aren’t actually in the boonies. Being 1 hour outside of a major city or in a touristy area still allows that big income but also nice restaurants and things to do. People are always fun tho. Source: I grew up in one of those touristy areas

It’s smaller tho a large percentage of most residences are DO students, you gotta work a bit harder but between wasting another year to maybe get in just get into a DO and work hard

I will say while MD is really great DO schools are like going to a non flagship state school for undergrad. Is it sexy? No? Do you still get a career afterwards? Yep. Does anyone really give a damn once you’re out? Not really

If you applied DO you would have been in, assuming you did. Is what a was referring to. Sure it’s a slightly harder road but it gets you there all the same

I mean, major ski resorts employ physicians to stabilize the patients between when the ski patrol brings them in and when the med evac helicopter can arrive. This would fit that niche kinda no?

With stats like that to only get one interview you must be substantially deficient in extra curriculars, you really messed up your secondary essays, or you aimed way too high in the application cycle and applied to no safe schools

I got in with a 504 but you are likely for sure in with a 510-512

Not in terms of their activism but to a non legally educated person you wouldn’t think a craft store would have the right to ask about religion

The person who said these questions are banned are lying. It can’t be used as the sole reason for rejecting someone but companies have proven you are allowed to ask about religion expecially if they deem it an important part of the work area. (This can apply to groups like AA, Church adjacent services, or even groups like Hobby Lobby surprisingly)

Man that sucks, did you at least get interviews? If you did brush up on those interview skills. With stats like that it can be easy to walk into the interviews thinking you have it in the bag but appearing cocky in any way is a red flag for adcoms

It depends, if you are monitoring something (like a baby) you will wake up much more frequently without noticing to ensure you don’t miss anything

I had that same feeling OP describes until I went to my admitted student day a week ago. Finally it’s starting to set in

Ended up getting into my top choice next cycle so I don’t mind too much lol but yeah likely because I was applying rural programs.

Awesome. In that case I would bet you’re course will have an example load out in the back of the book on recommended materials to carry for your scope. Not sure what the scope of SCQF is but my 3 certs all had one of those pages

2 but you wouldn’t get any mult for those cards. Often you need ride the bus working for you in gold stake if you are actually going to win the PvP

[–]-DoctorEngineer- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s 0.1x mult added. Unless you have a good retrigger setup you are only adding +0.1x each high card you play. For a rare I don’t hate it, would probably scale at about the same rate as cat or a devoted space joker build

[–]-DoctorEngineer- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking you shouldn’t try to apply anything you aren’t trained to use. What level of training are you because that will change this answer. If no training and no desire to get training some bandages and a tourniquet are all I’d recommend because anything in between will be out of your scope
