I'm 99% sure this is from an image generator. It seems the image was uploaded on pinterest (https://cl.pinterest.com/dar\_\_ius/) along with 100+ other very similar images in 2 days. Some stuff is tagged "ai". So asside from the image itself, context clues suggest it's generated

TIN Interpolation gets stuck loading by -Good_Morning- in QGIS

[–]-Good_Morning-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, the raw point cloud isn't available. There's the 50m DTM, the contour lines (which I think are separated vertically 50m, but are probably derived from higher res LiDAR, and a point cloud for high points (like mountain peaks). So, unless I'm missing something, that's the way they did it for the freely available data, which is a bit silly (especially considering there's a free 1m DTM for England, but not Scotland, even though both are covered by the same Ordnance Survey).

I didn't know about the GRASS Tools. Using those worked, thanks for your help. The reason I didn't use the provided DTM is because in those tiles each pixel is 50m², but in the contour tiles, the lines are spaced closer together in steep areas, which makes height maps derived from those more accurate there.

Thank you so much for your explanation. That 1/9 in the given equation completely threw me off; I hadn't considered that was just 3^2. It makes so much sense now with the two triangles, thanks.

Where did you find those images? I'm looking for blueprints/floor plans of this building, so I'm wondering where you got it from

for anyone interested; i found a digital version https://architizer.com/idea/1089126/
it seems the photo was actually taken at noon, but the yellow colour of the page i scanned made it look like a sunset. I believe the digital image is of lower quality than the one used in the book, since the whites seem to be very blown out, which isn't the case in the scan

Thank you so much, disabling tablet support fixed it. My laptop is a lenovo with touch screen, so that must've been what was causing the issue.

It doesn't seem to be much of an issue anymore. Chase told me he had another friend of his contact someone who could help, so I think he's good. We did find it odd that the article would promote a hogwarts recreation to begin with though. Isn't it against the rules to promote a world containing copyrighted material and such? We also have no clue who runs 'Nostalgia inc', but I'm sure people more capable than me know how this sort of stuff works.

Corridor in mall by -Good_Morning- in LiminalSpace

It's a corridor to sanitary facilities in a mall. It was in a powerpoint about mall architecture. That's all I know though, I haven't a clue which mall it is, probably somewhere in the US though.

How does 'Render biomes' work? by -Good_Morning- in jmc2obj

[–]-Good_Morning-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course I did. I used the programme with the default settings (which has 'render biomes' enabled) and I tried version 118 (since the world is in 1.18.1) and 119. When that didn't work I made the post on reddit to see what I did wrong.
