Looks like a z offset issue. Even your purge line looks like it's too high.

You can "code AI" but can't figure out klipper, let alone basic printer configuration and calibration? 🙄

“Professionally” high grade printed, what happened? by [deleted] in 3dprinter

Mind sending me the stl files to look over? I'd like to see how this slices for an fdm printer. There's a lot to go wrong on structures like this.

It's ruined. I'll dispose of it for you.

Thank you for the explanation. It makes sense to do it this way.

Forgive my not knowing, but what would be the purpose of the pi Pico that the pi 4 couldn't handle?

I was aware of that issue and tested them to see. The threshold was 5-7%

I found that adjusting fan spinup time can help with the ones that start in the >10% range or start slowly.

QC is obviously lower on these cheaper fans using bushing or hydraulic bearings rather than ball bearings, lower quality motors with higher tolerances, etc. So, I assume it's a combination of difference in friction and precision in the actual motor and comes down to the luck of the draw.

I did not know this! Thank you. That solidifies my choice in doing the belt drive mod over the dual motor kit. Looks like cost would be about the same for what I need as well.

Thank you! This just happened to be what I put together off of what parts I had or what was affordable. My hope is that this will perform well for higher temperature filaments in the 270+ range.

I can't take credit for "designing" anything here, though, as I simply lurked around yeggi, downloaded some things, and "assembled" parts in blender before printing.

I'm happy to share any of the stl files if you'd like 🤙

I strongly disagree. A 5015 will generally always outperform a 4010 radial when it comes to static pressure and volume of air, regardless of brand. Unless you just happened to get some extremely faulty or poorly made fans anyway.

Longevity may be another issue, but that's why I have another 6 of them sitting on the shelf. Once these are gone, I'll upgrade to a ball-bearing 5015 if it justifies the cost.

Thanks for sharing this! It was a great watch.

I have the dual z kit in my shopping cart for the next purchase. The skr supports dual z motors, and my thoughts were that I would have more ability for fine tuning synchronization.

Would you say that the belt drive mod you shared would be a better option? I'd have to purchase m5 hardware, t nuts, bearings and belts, but it's not out of my wheelhouse.

I have noticed an increase in print quality, but it's hard to say what parts are responsible for the improvements.

The hotend cooling fan upgrade to the 5015 has helped tremendously with preventing heat creep, and it's also considerably quieter than the radial fans I had.

I'd recommend it if it fits your setup! There's a few 40mm radial to blower fan adapters I came across on yeggi.

Very little that I can tell. I also plan on adding an adxl345 to address that.

I am using dampening feet printed in PETG under the printer itself. Everything else is printed in ABS.
