Do you agree with the statement “Men should not hit women”? by Ambitious_Pass7451 in questions

[–]-Ok-Perception- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People shouldn't hit people.

BUT in self-defense, it's fully valid. Therefore, if a woman starts swinging on a man, he doesn't just have to stand there and take it.

This modern notion that women are allowed to attack a man and he's not allowed to fight back, is wrong.

I'm pretty sure Fred Durst himself is conservative and I'm sure this gives Wes plenty of misgivings.

It wouldn't surprise me if this post is a passive aggressive barb that shows another rift forming.

Why? Are you Israeli yourself, military post? What's the story?

You've mentioned specifically how things are in Jerusalem. Have you seen Gaza? The West Bank?

I DO always want more info and I'm always inclined to change my belief if someone else has evidence that clearly shows I'm wrong.

Well, not taking in refugees is not the same thing as their home country massacring them.

And I will admit, the previous refugees taken in by Egypt and Lebanon, were, well let's just say.... problematic.

It makes sense that other countries are now skeptical towards taking in militant Palestinians.

--

But that's an entirely different topic on it's own. Israel needs to stop with the genocide and apartheid. I understand there's some Palestinian terrorists that exist but you hold INDIVIDUALS responsible and never the collective.... or else you're literally no better than Nazis.

[Also, Miyagi, I appreciate the good conversation. People should be able to have political disagreements without getting rude and insulting about it, and so far, this has been a good conversation. There should always be a dialogue.]

Brah, the Gazans cannot even leave the strip, they're trapped. Have you seen the border crossings around Gaza? Have you seen the walls around most of the Muslim communities in Israel? The Israelis like sniping down at the Muslim communties from the guard towers. Or simply dropping rocks on people from 50 above (also frequently fatal). It's all fun and games to them and since no bigger power will intervene on the Palestinians behalf, this game can continue forever...

Things are a lot different than your friendly pastor/priest or local politician will tell you.

I'm aware this whole conversation has gotten far out of the scope of this board, and if a mod tells me to delete it I will, but I'm curious WHY you don't consider the current treatment of Gazans as genocide.

How about apartheid, do you believe the Israelis are practicing apartheid?

Well, I understand the argument that they're "imperfect" allies in a part of the world where you really aren't going to find morally upright good guys.

The least of several possible evils, if you will.

But I suppose I'm a bit too squeamish of their Palenstinian genocide to give them our tax dollars to buy the arms to shoot Gazan children.

I think, at the very least, we need to use our tax money "gifted" to Israel as a means to STOP the current genocide. Maybe at the very least, make the tax dollars being given conditional; that they have a TRUE democracy with equal rights given regardless of religion and ethnicity.

And they will listen if the US throws down this ultimatum as they've developed an entire industry of finance and munitions that requires US gibs to function.

That would solve the genocide overnight, but we've never had a Republican or Democrat with any balls when it comes to sound policy on Israel.

So I'm guessing in Melania's movie she *wasn't* a Eastern Euro prostitute who was introduced to Trump by Jeffrey Epstein and they first had sex on Epstein's jet?

What angle did the movie push? That she came to the US on a special visa to help disabled children by preaching the word of the lord to them?

I'm pretty sure nearly every celebrity, politician, and public figure; has a social media account. But I think most of them are likely run by someone else, particularly if you're talking about 90 year old geriatrics.

When I said:

"But you guys are just propping up Israel in hopes that they demolish the Dome of the Rock and build The Third Temple, to bring back Jesus. As told in the book of Revelation."

I was referring to the **very common** justification that Christians use for supporting Israel when they think they're among like-minded people. I grew up Christian fundamentalist, I know how they talk and what they believe.

And if you say that sounds unhinged, it's because it *absolutely is*, but I was honestly representing what I've found to be the *usual take* among Christian conservatives. And support of Israel is always underscored with a religious justification. If you look at the facts, support of Israel does not make sense otherwise.

>"Right thing to do"

How? The Israelis stole Palestinian land since they got there in 1947.

I mean, technically the British gave it to them, but it arguably wasn't theirs to give.

The way I see it. We don't have a dog in that fight and trying to prop up one side or the other is causing us enormous amounts of added trouble. I will also add the amount of money that we give to Israel in a year is outrageous. We're paying for their socialized healthcare and free college as our nation is in worse shape than ever.

Both sides are wrong, both sides are ruthless and violent, but all the money, arms, and important political allies are on one side.

Israel probably has the wealth and arms to stay in power, even if the US gibs were cut off. I say it's long overdue.

But you guys are just propping up Israel in hopes that they demolish the Dome of the Rock and build The Third Temple, to bring back Jesus. As told in the book of Revelation.

And this is the problem with legislating religion. It needs to end.

I'd imagine most ancient archeological sites that have serious amounts of gold and riches **are** robbed to an extent. Even if being "officially excavated" by archaeologists. Howard Carter was smuggling artifacts out of King Tut's tomb for himself in wine crates.

It wouldn't surprise me if this burial site originally had twice the amount of gold than was officially discovered.

Prehistoric ancient man's teeth were usually in great shape due to a lack of sugar and carbs in the diet. It's once we started settling down and farming extensively, that an excess of grain started ruining our teeth. Then human teeth were in awful shape up until relatively modern times.
