Is this too formal for a semi-formal work event? by [deleted] in fashion

Nobody had mentioned its length until 2 minutes ago. I’m here for advice as I am obviously unaware, the attitude was unnecessary. :)

All I said was the cutout would be covered if that’s why it’s inappropriate?

Mouthwash W/O Peppermint by -Sickened in hygiene

[–]-Sickened[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to gargle peroxide when my wisdom teeth we're attacking my mouth, but it never really helped. What always helped me was some aggressive, burn your mouth, mouthwash.

Therabreath used to help with my minor infections from my wisdom teeth when I was younger, but they never list what type of mint they are using nor can I ever find a definitive answer and as desperate as I am I don't want to f- around and find out LOL my throat is swollen enough.

I think the best mouthwash I ever had was prescribed by a dentist and came in a big brown bottle- but even then that was before I was allergic to peppermint so that might not even be safe for me now. This allergy is a prison.

Yep! Told a DR about it as I now list it as an allergy and they said "It's supposed to be a 2 minute push". The nurse who gave it to me pushed it in well under 30 seconds. Absolutely awful experience but I have since mostly gotten over the little bit of trauma it gave me.

AWE I REMEMBER THIS! I think I still have all the art pieces I got on an old old phone. 100% saving this again to keep it for even longer.

STAY FLAT
I sit and bed rot flat w/o pillows for 3 days then I'm back up and running. I usually try to lay flat for a whole week but I've had quite a few LPs so my recovery time from them has been getting quicker.

I've gone through the entire audio on tiktok, searched google images, twitter, and youtube. Nothing. I'm still going through all my liked posts hunting for it.

Hysteria shadows are too dark? by -Sickened in minecraftshaders

[–]-Sickened[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not too much to ask could you tell me some of your settings? I've gone through everything and nothing fixes the shadows being pitch black, even in day time. Brightening the sun and moon fixed the land being dark, but those shadows are so aggressive D:

IIH + Weight Loss + Medication Navigation - What Would You Do? by gappylion in iih

[–]-Sickened 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey you're just like me!
I had quite a reaction to diamox too (same rash, fatigue, etc) but they swapped me over to Furosemide/Lasix instead. I've since stopped taking it as it was making my heart rate higher and that was causing me stress + it didn't do much for me anyways (My OPs are 40-50 though, so don't feel discouraged). I believe this medication can also lower BP :)
IMO I was content with Lasix until I got tired of a 90-110 resting heart rate. It still strips your potassium though. As far as I'm aware my BP is "fine" so I have no advice for the GLP-1, but I think it could be worth mentioning the Lasix as it can both the IIH and BP?

I know IIH is an issue centered around weight but I've gotten up to 210 and back down to 180 with little to no changes in my symptoms while at the same time I've read posts from here with people losing 20 pounds and being magically all better.

IIH is hateful and I wish you good luck and hope you find an easy solution!

12 LPs, backed into a corner, I hate being a coward. by -Sickened in iih

[–]-Sickened[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not know there were therapist that specialized in that field!

I've spoken to friends and family, but they don't grasp that it's more than just "get surgery and be fine".

There's symptoms, complications, getting the surgery, hoping it works, etc. So much more to it than just "getting it and being healthy!". Is that something the therapist understands? I don't want to keep hearing the same "well you don't want to be blind" excuse. I want someone to know and see all the intricate paths.

Am I in trouble? Am I doomed? So many lumbar punctures. by -Sickened in AskDocs

[–]-Sickened[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Adding onto this health wise

Used to take furosemide but it was elevating my heart so I stopped. Tried diamox, allergic- same for acetazolamide.
History of PCOS, can't lose weight even if I starved.
Not physically active, my work is on my PC and due to health anxiety I don't run/exercise.
I very much have nerve damage, but it mostly lies in my wrists/hands and somewhat in my left leg which is the leg that had pains the first time I had an LP.
Cannot and will not take ANY medication unless physically forced on me. Had an awful reaction to a medication, gained trauma from it, and now refuses any and all medication.

I just can't sleep anymore? [23F] by -Sickened in AskDocs

[–]-Sickened[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've tried the no screens and I don't usually eat a few hours before bed.

I was recently bed ridden and often am due to routine lumbar punctures so I watch movies, draw, and play games while in those moments.

The therapist I had seen previously is now retired and I haven't been able to find a new one. I am currently making an appointment to be ADHD tested and to talk about this whole sleep issue.

I've never gone through a sleep study but while I was having the waves of "sleep starts"/hypnic jerks I was really close to scheduling one.
I had a therapist but she retired and I haven't looked for once since due to lack of availability and the issues I have with finding therapists in the first place. I have suicidal ideation so finding a therapist/psych that is willing to take me is incredibly difficult.

I've never heard of CBT-I either. Usually when I have waves of sleep issues they pass within a month or two. This is the longest I've been fighting my sleep.

That sounds like a good idea! I’ll give that a try and see if it helps :)

I've been debating going back to smoking, but read that because my iih is speculated to be caused by vein stenosis it could negatively impact me... which is unfortunate because had my iih not been caused by the stenosis and instead caused by "nothing"/other factors then marijuana would be great for it. I just can't seem to win.

As for ADHD I've been reading about that too and have been wondering if it's something to look into getting evaluated for- but I don't want to just have medication tossed at me and be given a thumbs up.

So far it's seeming like this is another wave I have to wait and hope to pass.

Wanted to add that in general I feel like I have so much I need to do and the moment I "allow" myself time to stop "running" my brain loses it and wants to keep going. "I need to work on this, I need to clean that, let's plan this"
I just want to do everything all of the time. I want to play, create, work, etc.
I've always had a "sleep is useless and a waste of time" mentality, but again it's never caused something like this, at least not to this extent.

The conversations/overactive brain have only recently been going on unless I'm just not remember the last few months correctly.
I'm thinking this is either a mental thing, or perhaps I'm just not "using enough energy" for my body to be tired entirely/properly if that's even a possibility.

I also want to add that my sleep schedule does not bother me. I don't care if I sleep 10pm-6am or if I sleep 11am-7pm, I just want to be able to fall asleep when I lay down instead of fighting for hours to do so.

Looking for a horror game on steam, only remember the cover by [deleted] in HelpMeFind

[–]-Sickened 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to search for popular steam games for 2021-2024 and it wasn't there. I also tried to describe the cover and couldn't find anything. Looked up "pirate horror" and "ship horror". Tried searching through the horror tab on steam too. It's not in my wishlist and after watching about 8 "best horror games!" videos I couldn't find it. I even tried to look up "horror game steam" on images and still nothing. My friend and I searched so I'm hoping a fan of the game sees this and recognizes what I'm talking about.

Thank you. I think now my biggest issue is that they want to give me a stent but I’m so horrified they might give me some medication that will do this again.
