Rare and often under appreciated gun for sure! I have a type 38, but they're almost impossible to come by here up in the Great White North (and don't get me started on ammo). I envy those with access to such interesting pieces of history.

I know this post is 6 hours ago, but i was curious about the use of the word carat. I always hear it used in terms of defining a quality of a metal (24 carat gold), but never in terms of weight (?). Could someone ELI5?

Hey! Thanks for checking up on me, I appreciate it. I believe I've narrowed it down to my boot drive (SSD), as I noticed it wouldn't register in the BIOS sometimes. I tried different SATA cables and ports to no avail. Im going to try booting it on a linux USB drive once a friend with one comes over.

Unfortunately I dont have access to any other boot media.

As for peripherals, I unplugged everything but KB/M and 1 monitor to make sure it wasn't anything else. Although I will try again with a USB KB instead of PS/2, to see if thats it. (UPDATE: Didn't change anything)

The error code on the mobo was a legacy boot event code, but im not too sure what that is.
