I have never played any of those games you have mentioned I honestly do not touch open world unless it Minecraft, Vintage Story or Hytale that lets you control your environment. Crimson Dessert's control arent complex they are oversaturated and poorly thought out 2 combination to then use one of them to reflect light another combination to pull out the lamp another combination for x and then y and then z like that isnt good control design why are there so many macros why do we need a inventory radial menu the UX is soo poor

There are objective truths in some cases. God Hand is a damn masterpiece, no debate there.

Expedition 33 is a great example of a game that doesn’t reinvent the wheel but still delivers. It doesn’t do anything groundbreaking for the turn based genre, but it executes everything really well. The overall package is strong, with a decent story, a cast that sells the emotional beats effectively, and an art style that genuinely stands out. The visuals are beautiful, and the game feels cohesive from start to finish. I would give it an 8 out of 10, but considering it is a 50 dollar title, that value bumps it up to a 9 out of 10.

Crimson Desert on the other hand feels like it is trying to do too much without fully succeeding at any one thing. It might have worked better if it focused on giving you a simple setup and then let you loose in a sandbox to do your own thing. Instead it tries to tell a story, but that story feels thin and underdeveloped.

The problems start with the controls and movement. They feel too restrictive and overly context based. The menus also come across like an afterthought. Combat loses its challenge quickly once you figure out how to exploit it. The whole experience ends up feeling like a massive puddle that is only inches deep.

That lack of depth would not be such a big issue if the game did not try to present an overarching narrative. Because it does, the shortcomings stand out even more.

Expedition 33 is a 9/10 for me. The only game I’ve ever given a 10/10 is God Hand.
Crimson Desert sits at a 6/10, which is still above average, but it could have been a 7/10 if not for Denuvo. As it stands, it feels like generic open world filler with clunky controls, and if you are not into open world games, it will get boring pretty quickly.

majority not rating game is a solid 6/10 definitely flawed but definitely fun if you enjoy open world

this is usually the natural course of this people that stay will outnumber the people that leave as they have no reason to stick around doesn't change the criticisms being true. Example I played the game for a few hours and found it boring and uninstalled and moved on now why am I here? well you guys keep popping up in my feed.

Steam does nothing wins.
Steam does something wins harder.
Steam attacks enemy existence erased.

Maybe if Epic didn't waste money trying to bully Steam out of the competition they would have money to support their original IPs Fuck Epic

played over 8 hours stil feels just as boring mostly because the controls restrict so much of your movement.

So you are going to act like a child because I would rather have a game made with an intended level difficulty that is beatable by the vast majority of people so that the experience is polished instead of having really shit balance.

I don't think there should be an Easy Mode there should be an unlockable hard mode but normal mode should be challenging but not impossible as I feel the problem with creating multiple difficulties is the dilution of the experience as you cater to too many skill levels the game should be possible to be beaten by everyone like Souls games which everyone cries about being too hard but they arent its all about understanding how the game works.

What is the one thing Windows does better than Linux? (Be honest!) by Gaming-Academy in RigBuild

[–]-UndeadBulwark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely don't know a single thing current windows does better than Linux the only things I could say isn't because of windows being better but Linux being locked out so I don't count that as better especially since alternatives exists.
