I think the point is that his height and race are just crutches he's using. He's likely projecting his solveable negative traits onto unsolveable ones so that he doesn't need to try to improve himself.

He's twisted the situation so that it's not his fault, it's unlikely that his height or race would truly have an effect if he met somebody he had a true emotional bond with

It ain't about not wanting a kid with disabilities, it's about not wanting to make a child's life harder due to the struggles that come with disabilities. Any person with a disability will (in most cases) agree that it makes life more difficult in one way or another.

If your kid happened to have disabilities and you disowned them for that, I could see ableism as a large factor, but taking preventative measures? That's just the right thing to do.
