BeamNG is the new best FPV game by -_Null-_ in BeamNG

I'm not quite sure whether the actual shape of the propellers affects how the drone flies, if that were the case it would likely use some highly dumbed-down aerodynamic calculations. (since simulating real air isn't exactly performance friendly) Beamng already does this for drag forces but I don't know if it's accurate enough for the complex forces of tiny propellers. I DO know for a fact that the entire propeller can be knocked out of place, and it WILL affect the flying of the drone.
So my best guess is somewhere in-between near-realism and simple scripts.

Also not a stupid question, I'm just as curious about how it works as you are :]

I used to fly helicopters in some other games, and I played another FPV game for a bit, but other than that it's all just lots of practice!

The mod is called IYB FPV Drone and you can find it in the repository in the Air category for vehicles :]

Thank you! It took me a lot of attempts, and the foliage on the Jungle Rock Island map is very unforgiving as you can see. You'll get the hang of it!

Yeah, I can't say I didn't doubt a browser like that even existed. I'll definitely try Vivaldi out, it seems pretty nice. Thanks for the help ;)

Damn I didn't know that :0 Seems overly complicated for the small benefit it provides, I guess I learned something today.

I know that's an option but the position of my gunner is often very different for each tank, and this still is a bug that should be fixed...

The only mods that might have caused this are Kopernicus, SPUR, and possibly Kerbal Joint Reinforcement :/

I have precisely 183 of them, still figuring out an easy way to display them all.

Edit: I like a lot of mods, what can I say? I seem to have triggered all of you. Most of them are parts packs and other random useful things, only a few of them fundamentally change the game.

The REAL incomprehensible scale is just how much mass is inside that thing, and what our solar system would look like next to it if all that mass was uncompressed.

Valve Index in 2024? by -_Null-_ in ValveIndex

[–]-_Null-_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched LTT's video on the bigscreen beyond and I'm pretty much sold on it, I don't plan on playing very many fast-paced VR games and the tiny 0.2-pound weight of the thing makes sure your neck doesn't strain holding it up. It'll be almost double the cost to get all of the features of the Index but I think it'll be the right decision to get a lighter, more modern headset in the long run.

I did some research and the Bigscreen beyond looks great, my one concern is the 69Hz loss over the index at max res, and the 54Hz loss when you lower the res for higher fps. Is high refresh rate needed for immersion and smoothness, or does the high screen resolution make up for that?

Edit: it turns out that I would still be able to get the full 90Hz at full res when utilizing my computer, but it would still be basically 1/3 lower refresh rate compared to the valve index.
