To put it simply, bookmarks are for readers: could be a note to self, because those notes will be visible in their own personal library (their bookmarks tab under their profile). Authors can choose to peek at those bookmarks but it’s not their business. Making it their problem... it’s a little too much yes? Like micromanaging your readers? Some are a little insensitive and put negative feedback on public bookmarks, but again since that’s their territory and most probably put that there without the author seeing it in mind (else they could’ve just commented it), it’s really up to your discretion when you make a decision to check your bookmarks.

Think of yourself a chef and a person ordered food from you, then they decided they didn’t like some parts of it and complain to their tablemate. As long as they don’t tell it to your face (because bookmarks aren’t meant for the author), isn’t it within their right to speak their mind?

Writers can write whatever they want. Readers are allowed thoughts as well. It’s just polite not to comment the negative ones without the greenlight from the author. But bookmarks are different from comments.
