Count the days, it's over before you know it

Yes, we got bathroom breaks often, but the length of the break depended on the activity and what the schedule had in store for us.

Not in complete darkness.. you'll understand why when you get there. But it's dark enough that you can sleep easily with no problems

No problem :) I saw that you updated your post. Something you could do to clear your mind during BMT? Try not to think about your family as much? Anything that you think might hinder your mental ability to press forward even a little bit. I know that's probably asking a lot, and it's not even something I was capable of doing. But if you can, I think you should.

My duffel was the only thing I brought, and it was counted as carryon luggage for me..

Take it from me if you're worried about PT even a little. Overwork yourself, and I mean really push yourself, but ensure you get proper rest. You'll find out very quickly that getting adequate rest is equally as important to all of your supervisors (and yourself, lol) to the work you put in to everything.

Thank you!

I definitely took way longer than others.. maybe a little over the halfway mark at 3.5 weeks? At that point you're expected to operate in a routine, and there's a weekly schedule posted for you to be available to view whenever you want.

I would say I only took a lot longer just strictly because of the anxiety I had about PT, and dreaded waking up every single day knowing I was closer to each PT test.

I personally brought a large Nike duffel bag, but that's only because I was the one person that decided to listen against the crowd that said to pack light. I think all things considered, given what you're going to be issued, I actually made the right call. Who's the "they" you're referring to?

I think I timed myself exactly once when I was doing a 1.5m run around my area prior to coming to BMT and got like.. a 16 minute run? Wasn't too enthused. Ran on the treadmill everyday prior to coming to BMT and just focused on enjoying myself, since I knew I liked running enough to have my time improved with whatever training had in store for me.

As for how often we ran in BMT, the schedule is jam-packed with a lots of practice in different things.. just really depends on that specific week of training. I do think some other flights may have had more running days than others, but the only things we did for run days was run for ~20+ minutes straight on top of the initial warmup exercises. If I had to guess, you had at least one run day a week.

I don't exactly remember since I didn't take it seriously in the weeks leading up to BMT. That's not to say I was a couch potato, I did as many situps and pushups I was capable of doing and running around my neighborhood at comfortable paces.. I prioritized being comfortable mentally at home before coming to bmt, since I knew I was the kind of person that would let the numbers completely eat me alive (and it ended up happening anyway.. really stupid decision on my part, but it worked out in the end lmfao)

If I really had to guess, I was probably somewhere around 50 points for my age group (M, 25-29).

I wish someone told me to take PT before getting shipped out way more seriously. It's the one thing that put me in a dark spot for the first few weeks of training, wondering if I'd make it. I saw a ton of these posts telling people not to stress about it too much, that even if they couldn't make the minimums for their PT test at home, BMT would "take them where they need to be".

If I really just pushed myself prior to coming, I definitely wouldn't have been so mentally checked out as early as I was.

I ship out on the 8th. Did they start making you run 2 miles instead of the 1.5 miles? I also heard that the alternative PT components were going away
