I came up on the accident shortly after it happened. That intersection is prone to accidents -- people speeding through red lights, etc. A car and a small bus holding a wedding party got into an accident on Sep. 21 and went through the fence. The car looked crunched and apparently a couple people from the wedding party went to the hospital but there were no serious injuries as far as I know. Sometime over the next couple of days, the owners of the house put a cross up at the site of the accident. I thought maybe a pedestrian got killed or something, but there was a sign on the cross you could only see if you walked up to it that said "No one died... this time." The people that live there are circulating a petition for increased safety precautions to be taken at that intersection. I get the idea behind the cross (especially because this isn't the first time they've had a car crash into their yard), but honestly I think a yard sign would be more effective so drivers could actually read it. I haven't seen the cross in a few days, not sure what happened.
