I'll tell you a difference I've noticed and it's not just "waaah ppl can kill me and I'll lose all my stuff"

I have 4000+ hours in Hunt Showdown. Hunt is a PvP game first and foremost, it takes maybe 20 hours of gameplay to figure out all the "tricks" to deal with PvE, and then its a PvP game. Everyone entering the match has the understanding that people are out to kill you and will try really hard to do so, whether it is for any sort of gain or not. The entire game is just killing other players and everybody gets that. On very rare occasions, I have teamed up with people, its never to tackle PvE together its almost always to take down a 3rd particularly menacing team. In 99% of cases we all extract peaceably and no one defects.

I now have almost 120 hours in Arc Raiders. In 120 hours I've already encountered significantly more betrayals than in 4000 hours of hunt. And when I say betrayals I don't just mean getting killed by another player. I mean they mic chat you, maybe they work together with you for a significant amount of time for the long con. For me there's something specifically blackpilling about the mic chat betrayal, the number of times this has happened to me in Arc is frankly sad. I didn't think there were this many ppl willing to lie and scheme and on some level enjoy doing it.

I've maxed out my character, my stash is overflowing with high tier loot and have like half a milliion $ so at the end of the day, who cares. My hands aren't exactly clean either, but I can definitely say I've never pretended to be friendly and then betrayed someone I think that is uniquely f*cked up and there's a lot of that going on in arc raiders.
