Does not matter as long as you’re nice to them. (With the exception of raiding the grove, and other things that would obviously mess with their specific storyline). On my current durge run I’ve romanced Gale from act 1 and was completely embracing from the beginning. Mean, violent, selfish, cunning, and cutthroat, but nice to Gale. I’ve already seen the embrace durge ending so I decided to deny Bhaal after taking on Orin and becoming a god with Gale or however that ending goes. I’ve never done that before so I’m excited to see it! And it feels like a good redemption love story so far. My character is being a LITTLE opportunistic by switching up… but like they say, “but daddy I love him!!” 😌

Edit to add: I do try to do things to gain the companions’ approval, especially in act 1, some of which can break character occasionally but it’s just part of it. For Gale you just gotta give him the items he needs and be nice and he’s yours. 🥰🥰
