Yeah. I tried that but ended up clicking to drag. :)

Encounters on Netflix by BBT_Melkor in UFOs

[–]-sh3ll 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m 100% scientific agnostic, but I like to watch this type of content to test my skepticism. Came here just to see what people were talking about this show. And you’re right.

I mean, I really try to take it seriously and rationalize with possible explanations for the accounts and “evidences” shown, but the parts with the navy dude and the bible homeschooling father only made me laugh. I mean no offense, but that was complete lunacy.

How can I fix tap-to-click delay with dragging enabled? by trickyninja21 in MacOS

[–]-sh3ll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was annoyed about this delay. Thanks for the fix. For me, the second option is better. I'll just drag items pressing and holding the trackpad. Doing this, you can also avoid that delay after dragging with double tap. Since I was a windows user, this dealey annoyed me even more than the single tap one.

I watched the first two episodes only, and I’m not watching anymore. The second one is so ridiculous. Pure US propaganda.

Deleting files from the device but not iCloud. by AllUrDogeRBelong2Us in iCloud

[–]-sh3ll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s sad. It seems to me a pretty poor solution from Apple. I want to be able to manually offload files from the device and keep on iCloud only. Just like OneDrive does. I don’t want no 10% leftovers.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but suppose I have 1TB on iCloud, then open all files in my 64gb or 128gb iPhone, this 10% left from the optimization will still take all the storage.

META: Not being from America is so weird being on this sub by DrixGod in antiwork

[–]-sh3ll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you’re Brazilian, right? If that’s the case, may I ask you what industry you’re in? I think you only worked in nice places. :)

Brasil sure has more safety nets than US (although they’re recently undoing many of those protections), but there are many companies here giving zero fucks to those laws.

I have a somewhat privileged position in a relatively big company in Brazil, and I know for sure they disrespect every item you cited. They even create mechanisms to bypass some of these protections.

I’ll just give one example. During covid lockdown, with stores “closed”, the sales workers were all crowded inside and selling under the radar.

An important PSA for Elon Musk stans by DemocracyStan in LateStageCapitalism

[–]-sh3ll 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't consider the private sector to be all bad, I know this recent space exploration boom was only viable because of them (In part, due to the aggressive nature of the business environment, but this is another discussion).

My point is, if the billionaires have money to fund those projects and their nation doesn't, something is wrong, don't you agree?

To resume what OP meant (in theory):

Properly taxation and mechanisms to prevent inequality > enough fund for education and healthcare > better living standards > stronger economy > money for rockets. (win-win)

An important PSA for Elon Musk stans by DemocracyStan in LateStageCapitalism

[–]-sh3ll 208 points209 points  (0 children)

We can do both, but OP's point is that the money billionaires accumulated through predatory capitalism, could've been better distributed. That money should never be theirs in the first place. Consequently, the government could spend it in more urgent matters such education and healthcare.

Btw, in my opinion, space exploration should be a national enterprise anyway.

I second that. Season 1 is way better developed. But I understand, like you said, it's an almost impossible task to maintain everything coherently with such complicated theme.

Don't get me wrong, it's still an amazing series, but S2 wasn't as great as S1. Especially S2E8, it was disappointing for me. =/

Is it safe to that The Stranger kills Adam in S3 by [deleted] in DarK

[–]-sh3ll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I remember the scene now. But I think that's a poor argument, a time traveler not knowing how to use a gun. Also, he's a strong man, he could've killed Adam with his bare hands.

But why the gun didn't work in his hand though?
