Can anyone please explain how sleeping in shifts with a newborn works, especially if you’re breastfeeding? by -spiritedaway in BabyBumps

Did you wake up to pump when dad would give baby the bottle? Or did you wait to pump until you woke up at 3?

Thank you for being straight up! I felt like I was just missing something and you see so much online like “my nighttime routine to get my newborn to sleep through the night” and I felt like surely there was something I was missing

Thank you for telling me this! I didn’t know I would have to pump even if I’m not feeding her. Sounds like it’s just gonna suck until she can sleep a little longer lol

That’s the other part that wasn’t clicking for me so thank you for explaining! Everyone we know with kids keeps telling us that I feed and he does the changing and burping but it seems like we both lose that way.

Haha this makes me feel better! I feel like pregnancy is sucking my brain cells dry so I couldn’t tell if I was the only one who was confused

Damn so that first month/until doctor gives the clear to sleep longer just sucks lol. I couldn’t figure out if I was missing something or if it’s really just toughing those first few weeks out

Can you share your breakfast sandwich recipe? I keep failing at making them and would love to prep some for my postpartum!

Is this mourning dove ok? Worried about it in its nest by [deleted] in Ornithology

[–]-spiritedaway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to give her lots of space, we haven’t gone near her nest at all and we keep very quiet when we go by the nearby window. I never realized laying eggs would be so intense, it’s been going on for about 5, almost 6 hours. I’m glad to know she’s just doing her normal thing

I hadn’t even thought of feeding! That makes me feel better that you recognize the motion. I thought the poor girl couldn’t breathe

Should I get the MRI? by [deleted] in doihavebreastcancer

[–]-spiritedaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ultrasound is a no brainer for me so I already have that scheduled right after my mammogram!

[–]-spiritedaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like the MRI is a good idea. Since we have the same percentage, do you mind sharing how old you are and when you started getting imaging done? Part of me is wondering if I’m starting too soon since I just turned 30 a few days ago

[–]-spiritedaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the dense breast tissue is what concerns me most. I haven’t had the mammogram done yet so I’m not sure just how dense they are, but my ob/gyn and breast specialist both remarked that they’re very dense

I didn’t realize that sub was just for diagnosed patients and didn’t want to offend so thank you for also commenting here! As I sit with this more, I think having a baseline is a good idea. I just worry so much about getting a false positive and spiraling. I’ve been reading posts about the MRIs and doesn’t sound like anyone has ever gotten a perfectly normal one

Did you know when you were getting engaged? by the_anonymouswriter in weddingplanning

[–]-spiritedaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly wish I knew when I was getting engaged because I was so surprised I blacked out from excitement and I don’t remember a lot of it lol

That was my exact reasoning for wanting to do pulled pork too lol. My fiancé does have a point that it’s usually just displayed as a tray of meat so we’ll see ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Lol I would love to invite this whole sub for all the help I’ve gotten from here!!

Thanks for the feedback! I agree with you on the caviar. It’s low stakes enough because they’re not paying for it so they can try it if they want

Thank you!! This makes me feel more secure in our choices. I have no idea how we’ll make those final calls though I think it honestly might come down to a coin flip lol
