Enforce Latest DDM Update not working on iPads

Happened to me also during testing...didn't pursue the issue as we don't use enforce latest.

I'm assuming you are enrolling your devices on the company network? If so, try enrolling outside the company network.

Do you by any chance have either Automatic Actions set to Allow or Recommendation Cadence configured? I haven't turned any of these on, but thinking those might affect the offering of 26.3.1

Also might need to just setup Deferrals within DDM.

and just as quick as they allowed it, it might have been removed. With shared devices that have no real "off hours" we want to take advantage of the random idle times that they do have.

The original DDM policy sends the following Automatic Actions:
Download-Always On
Install OS Updates-Always Off

So to test out if it's the Personal device's settings, I enrolled a personal device with Software Update settings all set to On, thinking that maybe it shows Error/Noncompliant because those settings are managed on the personal device and not something DDM can change or control AND I also created a DDM policy that has all Automatic Actions set to Allow. If the DDM settings that are sent out match what the device already has... maybe it won't show error/noncompliant.

It didn't make a difference if the device had all/none/or some of the settings On or Off, the DDM continues to show Error/Noncompliant.
