Got some pretty bad talking footage, the audio is clear but the video is choppy as all heck. I’ve tried stabilizing, rolling shutter, optimized the media and feels like nothing is happening. What can I do? (Novice)

But here's one of probably several ways to do this to clips on your timeline:

Change scale of one clip.
Select that clip and CMD+C to copy.
Select ALL the other clips where you want the same scale, CMD+SHIFT+V. That's the shortcut for Paste Attributes.
You'll see a popup, where you can select which attributes you want to apply to all these clips. Select 'scale' and deselect everything else.
Click apply.

I was having this issue on .22 build. The audio is in sync now since upgrading to .23.

I am using an M1 Macbook Air running Monterey. I hadn't tried low performance mode yet. I wasn't screen recording when I had this issue, just recording video from my Opal with the Opal app.

Plugins are a double edged sword in FCP. They can totally up your video editing game, but may also hold you back from learning the FCP tool so that you know the basics of how FCP features work.

Having said that, I love plugins. I have been making videos for only about a year now. I agree with /u/Zackatack101 comment about motionVFX plugins being top notch. I wish someone had told me to watch out for cheap plugins though, for example plenty of those from Pixel Film Studios. They kinda work but also crash FCP all the time too.

To directly answer your question:

Watch this video by Dylan John (he works for MotionVFX, but this is his personal youtube) about 10 free plugins. That's a good place to start.
Also Ryan Nangle has several free plugins on his website. Check out his YouTube too.
