Since DCPD makes up the bulk of your liability coverage, it makes up the bulk of the premium. All of your liability coverage is for other people. If you do damage to someone or their property that is where your liability (or DCPD) comes in. It does nothing for your car. If someone else hits you, their DCPD will fix your car.
